I had to null vote. I haven't seen Once Upon A Time either, as much as I want to vote Oldboy.

Ah, posting now rather than just abusing the report system?

Nice.

Nulled. Every time I see Oldboy on my DVR's guide I want to record it, but it conflicts with another timer, or it's halfway over.

Was never a fan of Once upon a time in America. Although the kids bangin' that whore on the roof was quite exciting to me as a child. I would think, "If kids that age can do it, I can too."

Oldboy was a badass movie. Truly. Had a lot of fun with that one. However, the decision is clear... Once Upon A Time In America is an amazing film--a film that Leone passed over the Godfather to direct, and I don't blame him. The sheer scale and beauty of this movie truly does rival The Godfather. It is very very good.

Both are fantastic but I'm going for the one that has a live octopus eating, hallway fights that only have one shot for almost 3 minutes and one of the best twist endings I've ever seen.

Damn, I wanna show my support for Once Upon A Time In America, but I haven't seen Oldboy. What is it about?

Yeah, like the one where De Niro is stirring a cup of tea the whole time.

This film is just epic, and never fails to be anything less than absolutely amazing throughout.

Have you actually after seeing it as a kid? tounge.gif

Once Upon A Time In America is just one of those films of which I can't describe how utterly fantastic it is. Widow summed it up nicely. Epic. Amazing.

No dough this post will get questions and and maybe even some fighting.

What, banged a whore on a roof while having a conversation with a cop? No.

But yeah, I've seen it a few times. It's beautifully shot, but I don't know. It doesn't matter I nulled.

I'd love to vote for Once Upon A Time in America. But I haven't seen Oldboy. OUATIA, is a great movie though, at the end you can't help but feel a little pity for noodles.

I have only seen the 3hr 40minute version of Once Upon A Time In America (one day I hope Leone's 4hr+ Director's Cut will be released), anyway it's visually stunning film that covers over 50+ years of American history in the only way that Sergio Leone knows how, by engrossing the spectator fully into the life and times of the production. Not his greatest masterpiece, but a Sergio Leone masterpiece nevertheless.

Had to go take a look while I was in New York City recently. biggrin.gif

It really is an epic film. Top notch performances all around and a great soundtrack from Ennio Morriccone. I'll admit I have found the film a little less brilliant the more times that I've watched it but I think it still trumps Oldboy.

Watched Oldboy the other day and watched OUaTiA today. Really hard decision actually. I loved the epicness of the latter, how we saw their entire lives as they grew up and how things transpired over time. I also loved the twist at the end. Then again, Oldboy has an amazing plot which leaves you guessing throughout the whole film.

Grrr, umm. Gonna have to go with Once Upon a Time in America. It's amazing.

Goodfella.

They're both amazing movies but Oldboy takes it for me.

I bought the dvd on a whim without any idea of what to expect and I think the first time I watched it my jaw was hanging throughout. It's gorgeous to look at whilst being both beatifull and brutal, the score is fantastic, and I honestly think Min-sik Choi's performance was so good I could happily sit there and watch him do his thing without the need for subtitles.

No film has ever left me feeling so f*cked up like Oldboy has. It really has one of the greatest movie twists of all time and serious, it blew me away. The direction is also stunning. Once Upon a Time in America is a fantastic film in its own right but there are better.

I have only watched OUATIA twice but I have seen Oldboy so many times its uncountable. I know watch it without subtitles.
