well putting in the cheat was a last resort lol! first time (without cheats) i almost won then hilary damaged his car to much and it blew up!

 

EDIT: and i got past the whole game until then wihout cheats i tried many times!!!!!!

I tried this one again (my seventh save), and he burst his tires along the police road spikes when I had a 4-star level. He burst his tires, and mine bursts, too (that time it was rainy in Vice City). We slipper through the road, and he made the finish line with 3 burst tires. Darn he is a good driver.

So, in actual fact, you found the mission extremely difficult to complete?

 

Playstation_Loyalist, did you lose sight of him during the race? He seems to be an amazing driver when he is well out of your view, and doesn't put one foot wrong, which is probably why he managed to finish the race. Did it take a while for the race to finish?

No. He was I think a few yards in front of me when he finished the line. I pulled out my Uzi and shot his car but to no avail.

So, from what I gather, you were both neck & neck throughout the race? If that's the case, then that doesn't make it sound like he coped very well with his faults at all. It's very hard to drive with flat tires, add a couple of wanted stars to that and it becomes nigh-on impossible to not skid out of control at some point, especially on a high-speed race.

 

I bet it was comical, though!

If you just snipe his tire right away at the start of the race, and avoid the road spikes, you should be able to win quite easly.

@ flicko: I don't know what got into me. I failed to realize that he was already behind me (it's hard to play Vice City and an online Source game once in a time). Shame.

 

@ King of Monra: I already tried and proved too easy after 24 tries (). I tried to use flicko's guide.

If you just snipe his tire right away at the start of the race, and avoid the road spikes, you should be able to win quite easly.

As I've said before, that can be very difficult for some, and does required you to have a quick, precise & deadly aim. And if you miss on your first shot, you're not going to get another good chance to hit him again, meaning you've lost tonnes of ground on Hilary already, and you will more than likely lose the race.

 

That method is tricky & risky, and it requires a bit of skill. I wouldn't advise anybody to do that unless they excel in the above fields.

yeah i did find it hard. i tried guides so i didnt need to cheat but in the end it did

The first time I beat Vice City, it was probably the hardest mission I had encountered so far. The Job seemed a breeze, Death Row was easy compared. All those other times around, it doesn't seem nearly as frightening, and not that hard.

I think I saw it the same way. The first time I completed this game, I was very young, and wasn't the best at driving or doing anything practical in-game... aside from dying & getting busted of course! I can vividly remember struggling with the race immensely upon my very first attempt, but after that, I got the hang of it & quickly won the race. Since then, I've always found the mission easy to complete.

I beat it on the third try. It was dumb luck, he crashed into a building.
