bob0555 Posted May 21, 2009 Share Posted May 21, 2009 (edited) title Should of said CANT PLAY GTA4 ON MY PC Yo guys, i know my PC isnt the Best but i thought i would be able to play GTA4 At min Requirements Pc Specs: AMDx2 4400+ 2.2GHZ - I think thats the problem! 2GB Corsair Ram ATI 4870 1GB I can Start up GTA and startplaying but when i go Too fast in a car and turn it freezes then the Blue Screen of Death I used to be able to play it for a few hours online No problem. but i cant seem to play it for long at all now. Ive put all my Setting on As low as they will go even the Screen res. My Gfx card will cope with the game fine i think its just CPU I dont under stand why now i cant play it for more than a few mins!! Any help??? bob0555 Posted May 21, 2009 Author Share Posted May 21, 2009 ok tried to get the blue screen to appear, but it didnt do it ( Typical!!) its just Crashing, when i got fast or turn sharply in a car it will frezze and the sound will skip etc i have to Ctrl alt del out. Highwayman72 Posted May 22, 2009 Share Posted May 22, 2009 (edited) Yep probably the ATI drivers are the cause if you look...but also make sure you have all the windows updates installed cos there has been fixes that cured a conflict issue between ati drivers and soundcards. bob0555 Posted May 22, 2009 Author Share Posted May 22, 2009 mmmm, ive updated ATI drivers to 9.5, All windows updates it still crashes! no blue screen yet just it frezzes and sound skips cant crtl alt del out tho. might just wait till new pc! Wish I had the money to go for that at the time . I know how you could get it up to around 3.8 if you want, increase your FPS by loads, but like you said you need better heatsink. I have Noctua NP.
