KrixPrix Posted May 20, 2009 Share Posted May 20, 2009 Hi all , I'm new here and I just have a problem. I played GTA 4 on vista all the time (without problems), but now i installed windows 7. At first, it started but it stopped/halt/ceased. So i installed the patch(es) and i got an Error (Secu Launcher: failed to Start Application [2000]). I could'nt start the game. I reinstalled the game. Same problems. Then I testet a crack (although i have i legal). Same Error. On Vista it worked fine ? It would be nice if you help me. Clayblood Posted May 21, 2009 Share Posted May 21, 2009 Hmm don't really know what to say. I'm currently playing GTA 4 on Win7 RC as well without any problems so far. Although I just installed it like 30 minutes ago, I never got any error on startup or anything. All I did was Install game download the patch through the auto update thingie.. Download the Windows Live patch. then play the game =o I dont think it would be hardware related, but in case you can relate to that in any way my specs are: Intel Ci7 3gb ram radeon 4870 512mb SB X-fi audiocard plenty of hdd space. I have everything updated. Not the May ati drivers though. Could be driver error but I hardly think so. Just make sure to let the game run as administrator and those things. First thing windows asked me about was internet access (Windows Defender). .Also try using compability mode for various versions of XP or Vista. Might also solve some problems. GreetZ KrixPrix (Sorry for my bad english, but I'm Germann ) I'm currently running Windows 7 Build 7100, and have no problem playing GTA4 whatsoever, smoother and no popup issues, unlike on my XP & Vista64 that I've got on Multi-Booting rather than using the Windows 7 (64bit) drivers for Nvidia GPU I use the Vista (x64) 182.50 driver as I suffered a lot of issues with the official 185.85 whql driver on other games...especially Dawn Of War 2. KrixPrix Posted May 23, 2009 Author Share Posted May 23, 2009 (edited) okay. thank you. I said that the game ran now. But i played the first mission, and now the cam is rocking/swinging very hardly. But no stopping yet. Then I tried to import my saves. I havy my account and my saves. I copied it and it was'n found by GTA IV. So i used Xlove Wrapper, but now the game doesn't start. I get an error. But it's german., so i dunno if you understand: "Schwerwiegender fehler. Installieren sie das Spiel erneut." The Error-code is EFC20. And i wanted to patch it for mofifying. An error, too. Are these things not compatible with the newest patch ? Edit: I've googled and have seen, that it is caused by the crack.
