Is GTA CTW your favorite GTA? Can a game on a inferior console be your favorite, above the superior consoles?

 

Imo, yes. CTW was way more fun then IV. The story is alright, missions are more fun (more original then IV), and there are many things to do in CTW. CTW isn't limited by the DS's power. The isometric view isn't annoying and the graphics are alright.

 

I simply love CTW.

I've played about 6 GTA games and at the moment chinatown wars is my favourite, but that could change.

I've played all GTA Games except from Lost and Damned and I think GTA Chinatown Wars has been the second best GTA game so far right behind GTA San Andreas.

 

Some reasons why the game is so good is because of the great gameplay, the funny missions and of course because of the minigames. Drug Dealing is the absolute best thing with this game and I've already done over 800 Deals. The story is also very good.

Another reason why CTW is an awesome game is because the game is handheld. I can play those games for hours.

 

 

Hmm.. I wonder if GTW isn't the best GTA game after all. It's hard to know because the latest game in a video game franchise is usually the best. I'll know better when I'm playing the next GTA Game.

Anyway this game is easily on my Top 2 list...

 

EDIT: Voted 'Yes' because CTW is my favourite game right now. Haven't played a great game like this since SA.

Before I got GTA IV for PC I used to play this one alot at my sisters DS.

People comparing the graphics with LCS and VCS can go beaver themselves, for DS graphics it looks alright and still impressive.

Gameplay in this game is oldschool GTA fun.

The game is impressive despite the console's crappy software and hardware specifications. Though I can't say CTW is the best GTA game ever.

 

I am not an old school GTA fan, simply because it was just too simplistic to mee, IMHO. I did had much loving for the III era games. My favorite is GTA: Vice City. The vibe, the 80's feeling, it's nostalgia.

CTW is an amazing game definately ONE of my favorite GTA's. I feel sorry for R*, they made a great game, but it has less than 100,000 sales the last time I read the "update".

Yeah I'm kinda new to GTA. I've played these games for like 6 years now, have played I, II, III, VC, SA, LCS, VCS and IV, but I'm still kinda new.

 

The drug dealing is just awesome, and so are the missions.

Hell no. I think it's my second to least favorite, next to GTA 3. I don't know what people see in this game, it's not really that fun compared to it's cousins.

This is very fun and fantastic for the DS but I still prefer IV especially with the addition of The Lost and Damned. The whole experience of IV is just fantastic and I have more fun just messing around in that game than any of the other GTA games I've played although SA was also very fun to play around in. But the physics, graphics, AI improvements, and city in IV are all wonderfully done. The story in IV was also very good and a lot of fun to play through more than once.

Am I? I've been playing Grand Theft Auto games since 1997 when the original GTA was released. Since then I've played every game released except London '61, Advance and The Lost & Damned. I don't think I can be told that I'm "new to GTA" in any aspect of the word.

 

Though I still think Chinatown Wars is one of my favourites, if not my favourite, Grand Theft Auto game. It reminds me of the original three titles (GTA, GTA London, GTA 2) while adding all the new technology and advancements of the latter games (GTA III onwards). I think it combines comedy and action perfectly and doesn't focus too heavily on graphics and focuses more on gameplay, like any good GTA should.

 

While GTA IV was good, I found myself playing Chinatown Wars a lot more religiously and longer after I'd finished the actual storyline missions.

I just finished Chinatown Wars and although it was a really fun DS game it definitely wasn't my favorite GTA game. The story was pretty good and they did a great job on the city but I think there were just too many limitations on the smaller platform to move it to the top. They did add a lot of great new features to make the game more interesting for the DS with the PDA and all the little things that required using the touch screen. Even though they were repetitive they weren't obnoxious and that was a pleasant surprise. So many games get that part wrong but they did a great job on CTW. I think one thing I wish they could have done is angle the camera down even more or even make it a full 3D game like IV if that is even possible. My personal preference is not for top down views although I realize that's where the series started and some fans may love that throwback. They did at least put in some angle so the 3D environs could be seen but I think they could have made even better use of it.

 

Overall it was a really fun game that was enjoyable from start to finish. Any fan of the GTA series should take the time to play it. There's a lot to do and it kept me busy for quite a while. I also hope some of the features from this game will make it into the next edition of the full scale version such as the PDA and possibly the drug trafficking which was really fun and a great way to make some money early in the game.

 

IV is still my favorite GTA by a long shot followed probably by a tie between SA and Vice City.
