microsoft wireless keyboard stops responding

Dear all,

 

I am having issues with GTA IV on my PC, only in the last few days has this started happening (im not that far into the game, as like most i tend to get distracted by a religious man shouting on the corner and end up with 4 stars flashing away at me. i digress!)

 

I am using a microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse to play the game, and use windows with. (windows xp sp3).

 

When i am 'driving' a car, with the W key, sometimes the car will just come to a halt, then i release the key, and reapply it.

this will allow me to drive a bit further, repeat.

Sometimes i press the key harder and it seems to work for a few moments-but then fails again.

 

I have tried holding the W key in notepad to see if i had weak batteries etc (pro-longed key press will use more power i thought). - it works fine under windows, and for other games.

 

Has anyone got any ideas? as this seems to be a software issue rather than a keyboard one?

 

(If no known issues i will dig out a ps2 keyb)

it happend to me to and i just moved my receiver to get a beter signal

You're not the only one.

 

I have similiar problem, only it's on Xbox 360. I just posted a new thread about it, but I'll have to keep an eye open for this thread too...
