I've read somewhere that offensive emblems could be punishable, as in it could result in a ban.

There's an option for offensive emblems in the reporting system, so it's likely that there will be some sort of punishment.

My guess is they will force you to change your emblem immediately, or at the very least warn you.

 

I can't see the report system being very effective. When you get hundreds of thousands of people playing at once you can only imagine how many reports would be sent in by the minute. Far too many for Treyarch to sift through.

 

Once you get thousands of little kids reporting everyone for no reason the reporting system pretty much falls apart.

I agree agent. It's a good idea, but I don't think it's going to be effective due to the huge amount of reports that will be filed. Combine that with the fact that some hacks/mods get spread without the user even knowing, it's going to be very hard for Treyarch to review them all properly.

On a different note, if I pre ordered this and they are having a midnight release, should I go before midnight, or should I go around 12:30?? I don't feel like waiting all night, but either way I'm going to end up waiting.

No quickscoping Im not getting this game for that reason alone.

Quickscoping never bothered me, but I love it being nerfed just because of all the people who can't f*cking believe it.

 

As for the offensive emblems, they don't bother me and I don't think they should be punishable. I never saw anyone getting banned from Forza for painting a giant dick on their hood.

On the topic of the Swastica as an emblem... my ancestors were jewish and my grandparents were jewish... so i take high offense to material like that... it would be one thing if it was a WW2 game but its not. its a vietnam game decades after WW2. if i see that sh*t i'll report it faster than hell..

It's funny because the swastika was a symbol of peace before the Nazis got a hold of it. I think it's actually a cool emblem, but not in the context it's been used in since WWII.

Where do they draw the line between offensive and non-offensive? Some people are offended by almost anything these days.

 

It is an M rated game, offensive material is to be expected.

There's a in-game report system, so it can happen.

 

Btw I have already seen 1st & 2nd prestiges. Also easy to rank up, if you are pretty good.

Honestly, historically speaking a Swastika shouldn't be much more offensive than many historical symbols, like the Hammer and Sickle, or even the American flag.

There is always going to be someone to find offense from something, and that's fine but honestly like stated above, it's a historical symbol. It may represent a horrific event, but it's the past and we can't constantly be offended by it over and over again.

 

I can't believe we're already down to the last few hours before the release! f*ck, it seems like just yesterday it said like 150 days left. My and my friends are absolutely stoked, it's fun just to see the mood of everyone as we count down the final hours.

Midnight releases tend to go on for a very long time. If you dont wanna wait, dont go. I seriously doubt 12:30 will be enough. Probably be loads of people depending on your town.

Hm, my friend's Jewish and his grandfather died in the holocaust, yet he doesn't care for Swastica emblems drawn on his head when he's asleep (never heard him laugh so much), Nazi imitation or the like because that sh*t happened over 60 years ago. I see where you're coming from but it seems way too sensitive since you're not even Jewish (I'm assuming).

 

OT: If there is any possibility of me buying this game, it will be because of the zombie mode; epic.

My copy arrived today, haven't done much of the campaign, been playing the multiplayer, and so far I'm only rank 16, it amazes me how some of the players are already rank 30's and 40's, but so far the maps are much better than MW2 and I haven'tbeen anywhere near as frustrated.

Last year for MW2 I went around 11ish and stood in line and all that sh*t. For Reach I left my house at 12 and had to wait about a half hour. We've got alot of gamestops, bestbuys, and walmarts around here so I guess if you live in a small town you'd have more people waiting.

 

Still debating if I should pack up the bedroom tv & the jtag and go play Black Ops in the parking lot all nite. Or should I just be antisocial and roll up around 12:30.

the problem i can see arrising is if someone has picked up a swastica gun from a dead opposing team member then kills someone else with it will that person then repotrt him for the weapon?

queued with my mate to buy a copy last night. Arrived at half 11 and left at 2am. So many people it was ridiculous, had to walk up and down the GAME store 3 times to finally get to the counter. It was also a night of torrential rain in Portsmouth.

I redeemed my Zombie map packs (from COD5) finely, but when I try to redeem the Avatar thingo, it says the code is invalid, or has already been used. o.O

 

I remember for MW2, when I was redeeming COD1, it wouldn't work, and I kept trying and trying, and one day it finally worked even though I have been putting in the exact code with no errors.

 

EDIT: trying to find matches in the classic zombie packs and it can't find any I guess not many people have downloaded them

 

by the way, how do you unlock the rest of the zombie maps, the new ones? I only have the first one

Although its a decent game, I slightly dissapointed with Black Ops. After 20 minutes of playing I'd already encountered 3-4 bugs and glitches.
