Who else is upset about g4 today? You realize X-Play was a tech TV show right? The only G4 show you like is from the network that "ruined" it. Anyways I've heard Tech people complaining about the same thing, but nothing was too different until there was a demographic shift about a year ago. I believe the only reason the "merger" happened was so g4 could take xplay. Which is a shame because there was a ton of awesome shows on TechTV. I watched the Screen Savers every day. Attack of the Show is the only origianl program left, and all they do is referrence 4chan 4. G4 is just going to wind up a sh*tty syndication network like TBS, WGN or SPIKE QUOTE (K^2) ...not only is it legal for you to go around with a concealed penis, it requires absolutely no registration! Leo Laporte, Pat Norton, Sarah whatsherface and Kevin rose really had a good thing going there. And of course X-Play and a few other shows rocked as well. I only watch for AOTS and X-Play. Remember when they would give away those 3 1/2 floppy coasters on Call for Help? God, I remember calling in just to get my hands on one of those. Extented Play and Silicon Spin were some notable shows too. EDIT --- now that I think about it, I remember watching the 9/11 events unfold on TechTV. Forgot how long ago TechTV used to be around. I will admit, the females are a lot hotter than they used to be (I still miss Megan and Cat, though ), but all G4 is now is SpikeTV for a slightly younger crowd. Man, those shows were so awesome. I remember watching the episode of Call for Help where they had the old guy with some sort of ancient computer or recording device. After explaining how rare and one of a kind it was, it shattered in his hands, and he said, "Oh...f...sh*t." Morgan Webb was so hot to me back then. I think it had to do with the fact that she knew more about computers than me. Lately she just doesn't do it for me. I think the main draw to it for me was the fact that I related more to these people than anyone else on TV. They also presented computers and technology in a fun and exciting way. The Screen Savers was my favorite show. G4 just totally f*cked up TechTV, and even f*cked up itself. Call for Help was great, I used to learn so much from that show. I attribute a lot of things I know about PCs to those two shows. Fresh Gear was one of those programs I could take or leave, but for the most part it was 1000 times better than anything G4 has to offer. I'm just glad that revision3, systm, twit, etc. are around it makes me not hate G4 quite as much. As for the "solution" for if you hate a TV channel. NO sh*t SHERLOCK. I certainly don't watch G4 except once in a blue moon. Doesn't stop me or anyone else from griping about how they f*cked up and made the station into another sh*tty channel to skip through. A few years back they cut to a commercial during a live peek at the Halo 3 game that was to come out. Now I'm not a halo fan, don't even own a XBOX, but I knew right then. Deleted the channel from my list. Oh, an Munn in a dumb ho-bag. There was a call-in show a few years back called G4TV.com, I think, that had some hot chicks...wonder what they're up too...
