Shiiit, I enjoyed both to a massive extent.

Fairly sure I know which way I'm swinging, though.

Watchmen was a great movie but Aliens is simply an outstanding piece of cinema. To me, Aliens is the greatest action/sci-fi film to be released and in my opinion it will never be topped. I also nominated it so it would be foolish of me to vote against it either way.

I sense A Game Over, Game Over Man! for Watchmen here.

Aliens. Simply because I wouldn't feel right voting for a movie that hasn't been around for more than a year.

Regardless of films, that's really f*cking stupid.

And yet, that's what happens every time.

Watchmen is awesome! I never liked Alien, or Aliens, or anything about them...except video games.

Would the fact that Aliens is a much better film be an acceptable reason?

The whores and the politicians will look up and shout "save us!" and I'll look down and whisper "GAME OVER MAN! GAME OVER!"

Obviously. But not age, no.

Wow. Never knew anyone who didn't like those two insanely awesome films.

I like Watchmen, but Aliens will always be in my heart, as will Alien.

Bill Paxton in space? Best thing ever.

Watchmen is fantastic in it's own right, but not a cultural phenomenon like Aliens.

I developed such a weird crush on Ripley, by the way. Sigourney Weaver isn't really the sort of person you'd expect to have a crush on, but she kicked so much ass in those films.

Have to echo papanesta, not voting for a film just because of it's age is silly. My favorite movie of all time was released in 2008?

Regardless of that, Aliens is still superior. I didn't really find Watchmen all that great, honestly. Not like Aliens was.

So did I. I think it's that womanly confidence she portrayed so well that was turning me on (which has sadly gone largely missing in the midst of today's epidemic of whorish mindsets) .

But I still haven't seen Watchmen, unfortunately.

Well, maybe I should have worded it better. Despite what I said, it isn't just "simply" because of age. There are other factors such as action and thriller aspects, as well as nostalgic value. But also to me the fact that the Watchmen was just released a couple months ago means that everyone, including myself, have a hard on for it. So it doesn't feel right to consider it for the greatest movie of all time. Especially when compared to a movie that's stood the test of time, such as Aliens has. In a year, it MIGHT have been a different story, but not today.

It's too early to judge Watchmen and its place in history.

I agree with you.

Ripley is practically a man. That ain't right.

Both were extremely enjoyable to me but I really can't envision myself watching Watchmen again whereas Aliens I can watch again and again as its just got everything that makes a good cinema going experience.

Watchmen is a very good film, but Aliens is also a very, very enjoyable film full of plenty of intense action, violence, tension and a good ol' exosuit cargo-loader. Also, the special effects in the film were quite something.

Love Aliens, but Bill Paxton is the most mono-tone actor ever.

Besides that, Alien gets my vote.

Monotone? From what I remember his voice goes up and down quite a lot, and breaks; like the "Game over man, game over!" bit.

He may not be the best actor, but him and Michael Biehn were perfect for Aliens.

The way I see it, Bill Paxton is pretty f*cking far from monotone. Bill Pullman, on the other hand, I would have agreed.
