Kenster1025
All you could have done, was click on the link to the Microsoft website in the bottom right corner of the information box in Event Viewer. I would try reinstall patch 3.
Terminator56
I tried reinstalling the patch multiple times, but that did not fix anything. I have emailed R* support, but so far no response (been over 48 hours). Hope i can get this fixed soon, i miss the game.
Girish
There's no need for so much information. Remove everything except your system information so that your first post looks concise. The event log is of no use either. Did the game work before? If yes, what things have you changed in between? You always have the option of System restore to go back to the point where it worked and then reinstall. But first, try deleting the Settings file and see if the game runs. C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Rockstar Games\GTA IV\Settings\Settings.cfg Delete that file.
Terminator56
The only thing i changed was adding the 3.0 patch. There is no file in that directory either, its empty And rockstar has failed to respond to my email, it has been over 72 hours.
Terminator56
FIXED: ended up that my current install of Games for Windows Live was corrupted. After reinstalling GFWL, game works!
