MrJohn666
Hi there, I'd appreciate any gurus out there who can help a user in my company who has the following issue: Clicks a link for a video that is streaming, embeds a Win Media Player 11 video in a pop up window. On every other machine, it plays without issues, on this machine, it doesn't even buffer, just stops. DELL lat D630 Windows Xp SP3 Win media Player 11 IE 7 Macafee 8.0 Videos are from this site; http://www.chemsafety.gov/index.cfm?folder...hive&page=index on clicking any of those video links for the first time, the Active X yellow bar warns of the need to download some Active X content, then on my machine and 1 other of the same model, plays the vid. On his, it just stops. Attempts to fix: - Ccleaner run to remove temp and old registry files - latest flash player installed - XP SP3 was installed, Win updates installed - java updated to 6.12 - settings in Win media updated to reflect proxy settings - active x security settings enabled I've resorted to installing realplayer on my machine, downloading the file and giving user realplayer to view the video they need as a workaround. Thanks in advance. Edited May 19, 2009 by MrJohn666
MrJohn666
No replies? Oh well, on with the construction of Skynet. Let the record show that humanity had it's chance. Looks like a reinstall Win MP and run updates type job.
