bukueOne
I just got gta 4 for pc tha other day and i kept getting tha fatal error RMN40. Then i took a look at tha back of tha case and it said i needed sp3. Now no matter how hard i try i cant find tha proper sp3 download on tha microsoft site. All i can find are tha overviews and tha network installation files. And rockstar support doesnt help either. Can anyone give me tha microsoft link or any other link to an sp3 download? thanks. McLovin2404
Auto-Updates... Right Click 'My Computer'...select 'Properties' Go to tab labelled 'Automatic Updates'...and then click "Windows Update Web Site." I think everything should be there. Here's a link that can assist you too --> LINK Edited May 19, 2009 by McLovin2404
black4white
Use this registry modification to trick Windows into thinking SP3 is loaded: Hit 'Start' then 'Run' Then type in 'regedit' Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, then SYSTEM, then CurrentControlSet, then windows From here on in click "CSDVersion" and click modify, change "0x00000200" (SP2) to "0x00000300" by typing 300 in the field where 200 once was. Close it down,

Girish
A very recent PM conversation with a member 'hetment' led me to know that you can get around the RMN40 error by setting the compatibility mode of the GTAIV.exe and LaunchGTAIV.exe to Windows 2000. I'm not sure if it works, but it seems that this method worked for hetment, so you might as well give it a try while you're waiting for your download limit to reset. Gangxxter
Can anyone give me tha microsoft link or any other link to an sp3 download? thanks. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...08-1e1555d4f3d4 I highly recommend you to install SP3. It fixes a bunch of security holes and issues.
Puffalump
I had reinstalled Windows, and I think I had to download all the updates prior to sp3 for sp3 to show up in windows update. It wouldn't let me install it until my system was up to date. If you dont see it right away after you've installed the updates, have http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com check your system another couple of times after a reboot and see if any more updates appear. It's a good idea security wise to keep your computer fully updated anyway.

hetment
yeah grishb said right. well i too have sp2. o i went tto launchgta4.exe right clicked on it and then to combatiplity and set it to windows 2000. but now the only problem exists tht game will take very much time to load from play button from rockstar social club. exactly 50 secs. and then dont move your mouse too or cpu will hang . just let it on. then your game will run goodly. . but i prefer you to get sp3 man because running in xp compatiblity more will bring more smoothness to game. i will also upgrade my sp2 to sp3 in these days. until that you gotta bear with 2000 mode and little slowness though. and yeah remember never alt tab of it click on quit only when you wanna quit game. never move anything when you click play button tooo. as it will make your game hang because of 2000 mode. so if you really wanna run game fastly! then use 2000 mode and bear with game little.
