Typhus
Gordon Brown was hungry for power, for a long time he felt held back whilst Blair took the limelight. And Gordon desperately wanted to take his posistion. In one respect he was well suited for this task, being a masterful planner and manipulator. In anoter, it was quite clear that he was not up to the task of being a leader. He has been described as a control freak, a leader can get away with that but first they must inspire loyalty, they must ensure that their charisma outweighs their flaws. But look at the constant challenges he has had from within his own party. He wanted power but doesn't know how to inspire any loyalty - which leads to weak government. alx-ndr
Became prime minister at the wrong time... he really isn't a leader though. He's done a good job about the things that actually matter... people should stop blaming him for silly little issues the tabloids have got hold of. At least hes better than the closet-nazis or the lib dems being in power... could be better though, but it could be a LOT worse.

Yeh... its bad. Research Daily Telegraph, Sun, Daily Star and News of the world. All are biased and tend to get tiny insignificant stories and blow them out of proportion, often making people who read them have an extremely biased view on society. Only good news paper in Britain is the Times, bit more expensive but it has the point of view of all political parties not just one or the other. Pr0xy_fl00d3r
Please, Alx-dnr, get out & stop calling Gordon Brown a Nazi, how the hell is he a Nazi? he's a c*nt, but he's not a Nazi, gosh

Don't ask me why though, it just seems a rather childish jibe at those of us on the right wing of the political spectrum. Nazism is all about blood science, about preserving Germanic purity through the decimation and subjegation of other races. In what way do the Conservatives reflect this? BNP? Maybe. Combat18? For sure. But not the Conservatives.
Pr0xy_fl00d3r
Obviously he doesent know the difference between a facist, German political party that incorporates both left & right wing politics, opposed to David Cameron, a centre-right politician from London. I could understand if he stood for what Hitler practiced during WWII, but he hasn't so I have no idea where he got the word Nazi from.

Why you might be called a Nazi: - Proud of your country - Tough on illegal immigration - From Israel - From Germany - Propose increases in national security - Support America - Hate terrorism (Oh, right, sorry. It's not terrorism, is it? Just poor, misunderstood souls fighting against Zionazi's...) - Right wing - Religious - Advocate of capital/corporal punishment - Advocate of drug control Who might call you a Nazi: - University students - Anarchists - Watered down Anarchists (94% of GTAForums then.) - Palestinian supporters (100% of DeviantArt.) - George Galloway - Junkies - Weird guys handing out pamphlets on a street corner

Clem Fandango
Do you take drugs? No, but there's plenty of things I don't use, doesn't mean I want other people to lose the choice, let alone to have my own hard earned monet taken off me to manipulate other peoples' choices. Also, how can a christian be pro social engineering? It's like saying god didn't do a good enough job at making us, so the liberal elites must "finish the job". epoxi
I think we should just leave him alone. But seriously, people say he can't manage the economy...but before being Prime Minister he was Chancellor of the exchequer, and gave us a prolonged period of sustained economic growth like we've never seen. This isn't his fault: some of you say he should have regulated the banks and lending, but if he did that before the crash you would have been running around like a headless chicken complaining he is taking away our freedom. Unfortunately, I doubt he'll see another term. Edited May 19, 2009 by epoxi

General Goose
He's a one-eyed Scottish idiot, in the words of a very famous man. If only he was black, he'd be the Demoman! I think Brown is an incompetent PM. His financial skills are subpar, especially in the long term, he has a rubbish government and his managerial skills leave much to be desired. And for all those defending his financial record: when it's a period of worldwide growth, the Government claims "It's because of us", but when it's a recession, which the UK is suffering particularly bad from (funding screwups, selling off the gold reserves and too much consultants are just some of the government mistakes), it's the "world economy." Obviously Brown wasn't behind the crisis, but his management made things a lot worse. Edited May 19, 2009 by General Goose
