photopictures
Not too long ago I got something I've wanted forever. A nice cabinet to house my CD collection. As I was setting it up and negotiating shelves I did a count on how many CD's I had (300+). I got a bit obsessive and decided to created a spreadsheet for my CD Collection (with all kinds of columns for details). Also, I decided to arrange them in a new way. Completely Alphabetically. By artist and then if it's a Various Artists title, I have it by Title, in with the general artist population. After all this OCD behavoir of mine, I'm kind of curious. Do any of you have your CD Collection arranged in any certain way? Are you obsessive about how your collection is stored? Do you keep tabs on everything? How many CD's do you have in your collection? Obviously, this discussion would pertain more to guys and gals that still own predominantly CD's and haven't decided to go completely "file based". Moonshield
Well I keep all of mine in a few stacks of milk crates next to my records, and seeing as I have most of them ripped onto my hard drive already, I don't see the need for me to dig through them any time soon. Anyway, the last time I checked, I had about 700 cds and only about 40 records (I still need to rip most of my records with my brand-fraggin-new usb turntable). I'd like to eventually build something that holds everything, but I'm pretty busy right now as it is with school and work. asimov
I'm the same as Moonshield, I have a few hundred CD's but they are all tucked away, since all of the music is ripped onto my computer. My library on my computer is super tidy though, everything has all the details, including track number so I can play the CD as it was meant to be heard.
