Gah, River Kwai, one of the first I haven't seen so far this round.

And I so want to vote for Let the Right One In. mad.gif

Balls, I have to null this one. I remember seeing The Bridge on the River Kwai ages ago but can't really recall it. As for Let The Right One in, it still hasn't appeared in our local cinema on the foreign film night. sad.gif

As much of a hardon I have for LTROI I'll have to be honest and null, I've never even heard of The Bridge on the River Kwai

Same, never heard of River Kwai. Just know that Let The Right One In is one the best, I mean best, films I've seen in some time. It's like I'd seen too many flashy, special-effects laden popcorn flicks and this woke my ass up. It pretty much swept the Swedish film awards for good reason. Just didn't take best picture...

I'm surprised you haven't heard of Bridge on the River Kwai, pretty iconic. Unfortunately I haven't seen LTROI, although I want to. This might not be a popular poll.

Nope sorry dad never heard of it. Nobody has ever mentioned it to me nor have I read about it, but since it seems to be so big and iconic I should check it out then. Thats the benefit of this whole thing, to discover new great movies we have never even heard of.

Anyway, I'd be surprised if this poll passes 10 votes.

10 justified votes. Right now, it's just random people that have voted.

null'd, as I haven't seen LTROI, I think it's ended its cinematic run here.

It's always been like that unfortunately, people voting without seeing both films and giving no justification. It's all the same people in every thread talking about their decision.

At least, say something.

I can never get my head around how David Lean was such a fantastic filmmaker. Whatever project he touched turned to Cinematic Gold. He is...was a genius. Anyway, one thing you'll never forget from Kwai is Alec Guinness's solid performance as Nicholson. He is brilliant. Also the amount of memorable scenes and quotes. Even if you haven't seen the film, everybody knows how it ends, and one of my favourite scenes personally is where all the soldiers march back into the camp while whistling the good ol' Colonel March from the First World War(?). It's only a minute or so long, but it sums the film up perfectly for me. I remember the first time I saw the film; it was madness I tell thee, madness!
