meanmarine
I just re-installed GTA4 with the latest update from Live. When I play the game and get a lot of police attention, the game lags and crashes. I have tried to play with all the settings in the graphics menu on low and it still has the same problem with crashing. I know I didn't have this problem before the latest patch came out, and I even updated the patch with what this site gave me to adress the stuttering issue with no sucess. I know I have a solid PC to run the game as I have played it before this latest update with no problems at all and at respectably high graphics settings. my PC specs: AMD Phenom 9950 Quad-Core Processor - 2600.0 MHz 2 x 2gb Corsair PC2-6400 400Mhz ATI eah4850 top 512mb Windows XP 32bit What about a crossfire on the video card good idea or not ? and any other suggestions to solve this prooblem ? Girish
What about a crossfire on the video card good idea or not ? Not a good idea. GTA IV has been reported to not work well with SLI/Crossfire. As for you problem, the only possible explanation that I can come up with is a video driver issue. What Catalyst driver version are you currently running? Have you tried updating the driver? If you're already running the latest driver, in some cases, you might need to rollback to the previous driver version since all new drivers may not give you the same or increased performance.
