E3 09 Speculation Thread

Well E3 09 is just about 2-3 weeks away and it's going to be the big convention style E3 we all once loved and not the boring E3 of the last 2 years. There are so many rumors going around for this E3 as being the biggest to date with companies supposedly showing off major big hitters and surprises on the software and hardware front from all console manufactures. What things do you think will be revealed at E3 09? What do you think the big 3 will have in store?

 

Well we know for 1 that GTA IV: DLC 2 is going to be shown at E3 as it was on R* Twitter page. There is also rumors going around that R* will be showing a new GTA besides the DLC which may or may not be the next full fledged sequel ala VC and SA or maybe even the rumored GTA return to PSP or possibly even the PSP 2 which is rumored to be the PSP Go. Maybe we'll finally get a SAS if memory is large enough and it's rumored that the next PSP won't have a disk drive.

I'm looking forward to hearing more about the R* PS3 exclusive franchise, as it's been something like 2 years since it was first mentioned. Also, more info about some sequels coming up - Assassin's Creed, Bioshock, & Uncharted. Most of all though, I want more info on Team ICO's upcoming game.

I can't find the quote but in the latest issue of the Official Playstation magazine, it is mentioned that Sony have two large surprises lined up for E3.

I'm so looking forward to Mass Effect 2 info, Mafia 2, Read Dead Redemption, Uncharted 2 (I might buy a PS3 again), L.A. Noire, Alan Wake and Splinter Cell: Conviction. For f*ck sake, SC and Alan Wake are delayed as f*ck.

 

If I'm lucky they'll show some Gears of War 3, and maybe announce Gears of War 2 port on PC.

While M$ makes decent, if not great products, the company itself is such a whore. M$ has to calm down with all this exclusive sh*t and everything.

 

I'm very excited for R* news too. Might see some L.A. Noire, Red Dead Redemption, for surely GTA IV DLC 2, the PS3 exclusive, and probably a new GTA itself.

Oh man, that would be awesome. Then again, alot of resources at Valve have been going toward updating TF2 with the new Sniper/Spy update.

 

I am hoping for a surprise reveal of Duke Nukem Forever. Yeah Baby, Duke's Back.

Max Payne 3, Mafia 2, Modern Warfare 2 (hopefully they won't dumb it down even more/again but try to make REAL quality this time), Aliens versus Predator, Battlefield 1943 (Hopefully the PC version will be more than just what they promised for the console folks)...

 

Seriously, alot of good games coming up... or well, game titles that look to be promising. I have a feeling that this year/next year will be good times for gaming. Lately there hasn't been any game that caught my eye or knew to blow my mind (apart from GTAIV, but it blew my mind when it was released for the consoles... the buzz/thrill got 'raped' if I may say when I realised it refused to run properly...)

i asked someone else where to find E3 info and i was told google and as a lettter and a number being the name... i doubt I'll be able to find the right sinfo..

 

also i can't wait to see what the sony surprises are.. I'm pretty sure 1 is the new psp which will be awesome!!! oh and uncharted is gona be sick, I've seen some gameplay footage and it looks sweet

I'm hoping Bethesda gives us some information regarding the new Elder Scrolls game, it fit's within their basic timetables and it'll stop all of the speculation regarding the setting.

 

Not to mention how sweet a Bioshock 2 and Modern Warfare 2 demo would be.

I think a PS3 price cut and something huge is almost certainly going to be out there by Sony. The PlayStation brand is too valuable to just abandon but Sony, as a company, is doing too poorly to just throw out a price cut and lose hundreds of millions on it. So there's certainly going to be a price cut, but there's going to be something else big to go with it imo.

 

It looks like Crackdown 2 might be coming which would just be awesome. There's also a rumor about Konami doing something on the 360 related to Metal Gear. I can't really see Metal Gear coming to the 360 but the massive and comical fanboy meltdown that would occur as a result makes it worth hoping for.

 

If PS3 drops $100, slims down, and brings back PS2 compatibility it will do great.

 

I can already get $100 off a PS3 by trading in a PS2 and three games, or $50 off, so a $100 price cut alone isn't super stellar

I'll be the 1st to admitt that I'm a ps3 fanboy.. but only within reason lol

 

metal gear going to 360 doesn't bother me at all infact I'm happy for 360 owners to be able to play the game but.. i would preffer that games were made for each consol seperately.. because the technology while similar is slightly different and ps3 exclusive gamesget a considerable amount of extra content on release compared to mixed games. BUT a ps3 exclusive going to 360 later on doesn't bother me as they just have to make some lower quality images or something to bring the file size down to the HD dvd's abilities.

 

in saying that... PS3 FO FUNKY LIFE!!!! lol i have a 60 gb so i have the right to be such a lover no later model owner does though... later modeled ps3's are just... cars with an engine but nothing else... who wants a car that has a steering wheel and an angine but.. a stool with no back support for a seat and nothing but metal paneling? no one that's who.. the original ps3 was a great car but the news ones have been stripped bare... sony just please put the entertainment back into the system.. who cares about the memory stick reading.. you can do that through a psp or a reader but backwards compatability, dvd compatability and all those fun things... we want and need them!!!

Awesome. But 3 for me. MAG is already one of them. I'm guessing One is a price drop and the other might have to do with R* cause Sony actually proposed R* make the exclusive franchise. Or maybe something completely different. We'll just have to wait and see.

 

@ Supreme.: Info on those would be good but Prototype? Seriously? That game is coming out not 1 week after E3. Hell the Intro movie is floating around on the internet somewhere.

I heard that there will be some news about Forza 3 and it apparently having a sh*t load of new tracks which Forza 2 needed so badly.

 

Then of course i just want some news about the upcoming big games. Plus i would love an announcement for GTA 5...as well as some news about GTA 4's second DLC pack.
