Minic Posted September 22, 2009 Share Posted September 22, 2009 My copy didn't arrive today from Amazon.co.uk, but my friend at college had his arrive, i went down his during my 2 and a half hour lunch and played some firefight. Holy crap is that mode awesome, shame you can only do 2 player split-screen, but fun still. I really cannot wait until i get my copy in t he post, which should be tomorrow, i'm so looking forward to playing the campaign alone on legendary. Only difference is the way you explore the city to start missions. When those missions start it's classic Halo. I got mine on Monday and completed today. Was fun but a little brief. Same length as Lost and Damned I would guess. Is it worth the full price tag though? I am unsure. I got it for £30 and a day early so I'm happy. Posted September 22, 2009 Share Posted September 22, 2009 Picked this up today, never owning any of the Halo's before (played them tons at my buddies place though), just to kill some time between playing NFS Shift and waiting for Forza 3. I like it. It's pretty fun, it's got that Halo feel to it naturally, but it's not quite the same. I like the change (albeit a slight one). It's alot of fun, but the price is too steep for what is basically a little more than 50% the size of the original game, but I'd say it's worth it. And is it just me, or is this easier than Halo 3? Punk-in-Drublic Posted September 23, 2009 Share Posted September 23, 2009 I just bought this today, I was so tempted to buy that incredibly sexy controller in the limited edition version, but then I realised that its just cheap plastic and isnt worth the extra money since I allready have two controllers But still, I love it. Im yet to play it, but it looks fantastic, Bungie have really gone off the beaten track with this one by the looks of it. Cant wait to own some Brutes with that silenced SMG. Also, that new multiplayer. co-op mode that is similair to Horde on GOW looks f*cking ace. Andrewbot Posted September 23, 2009 Share Posted September 23, 2009 I was orignally not planning on buying this game, but when my Halo 3 disk got stolen a few weeks back, I figured "Hey, I need the multiplayer, ODST has the complete multiplayer, might as well get it" I am glad I did. Fight is so much fun! Even with two people, Lost Platoon is a ton of fun and can be so ridiculous at times (The Wraith's are freaking snipers, can't remain stationary!), but that is what makes it great. The guy across the hall from me in the dorm is getting his copy today, we're planning on doing some 4-Person Firefight, can't wait. I didn't get to play too much campaign I think we just finished "Dutch" (or whichever ODST has the Warthog Rush into the city, found by the drone's optics The Engineers are a pretty cool add in I must say, very different than what I was expecting. I love firefight, its like Horde on GOW but 10x better. Only played a couple of rounds on the first map, forgot the name. My only gripe was the lack of weapon spawns, really miss my BR. Minic Posted September 23, 2009 Share Posted September 23, 2009 There are a few weapon spawns for firefight, like a sniper rifle or a rocket launcher on a wall, but i don't think the BR is in ODST. I have simply loved the campaign so far, it's so gripping and the characters deffinetly feel human, even The Rookie as he's alone and possibly scared in a massive city, it's simply fantastic, plus the soundtrack is simply amazing. I've managed to play some Firefight too, which is an amazing mode, i haven't had a full 4 people yet though so that sucks. The game comes with 2 disks, one has ODST and Firefight on, the 2nd is the Halo 3 MP but as a standalone thing that comes with all maps on the disk, it's deffinetly worth getting. The multiplayer disk that comes with it is just the halo 3 multiplayer, so you'll have everything you unlocked for it, unless you deleted your halo 3 save data off your hardrive. I loved every moment of the story and it was ace from start to finish, but it needed to be longer, i know they made it within a year or so, but if they had been making it for 2 years, imagine how much more awesome this game would be. I'm also looking for some people to play firefight with, my GT is Zenibryum, so anyone can feel free to add me if you're up for some lengthy firefight games. Oh yeah, the hunters are absolute c*nts in ODST, the first ones you encounter on Tayari Plaza, one of them ALWAYS follows me into the building where the fire grenades are and kills me, no matter what and don't even get me started on them on Legendary, bastards.
