1ManArmy
I'm eating mouth spoons of sugar as i'm typing this. I often feel very sleepy during the day and i'm unable to concentrate on home work like i'm supposed to do now. At first I thought it was just me being lazy but I don't remember having this problem last year. Everyday after I come home from school, no matter how much sleep I get I still feel sleepy after my lunch. I tried taking 'naps' for 20 mins and I wake up with a headache and it doesn't help me study at all. I just had a good 8 hours of sleep last night and I just took a 30mins nap but I still feel sleepy. When I come back I can actually take a few hours of sleep and waking up at around 6 something. So my day passes quite fast. I don't know if I should consult a doctor cause i'm not sure if it is something serious or am I just sleepy? Now i'm seeing if eating a few mouthspoon of sugar will help. I tried telling my parents about it but as usual they just brush it off thinking i'm just making a big matter over nothing. I mean, I don't mind sleeping, but it's getting inconvenient. Also, i've been told I kick when I sleep and at night when i'm trying to sleep I can feel my leg muscles twitching even if I didn't exercise during the day. I even tried googling it but I don't know if my problem is really that serious that I need a doctor... I mean, i'm just sleepy, right? Anyone else got the same problem? *MURDOC*
I'm eating mouth spoons of sugar as i'm typing this. Sorry, but I couldnt get past this retardedness. Alright I made it. If you think its serious, which it seems you do, then see a doctor, but stop eating the sugar, thats f*cking stupid.
TOGA62
you might have restless leg syndrome with that leg twitching stuff. I don't have the time to go into great detail about it, so just google it for more info. I would suggest seeing a doctor. You could also potentially be hypoglycemic or have a number of other conditions like sleep apnea. It could be as simple as diet. If you don't eat a lot of carbs but live an active life style your body would naturally just not have the energy required to keep you going during the day. If you are not eating hardly anything at all either then that could really affect your energy levels. Again, I'd recommend seeing a doctor because if there is anything I have learned through recent events in my own life, it is that it doesn't matter how healthy you think you are you might still have something seriously wrong with you that you don't even know about. Clem Fandango
Could be hypersomnia (you know? The opposite of insomnia). Any other health problems, or mental problems like depression that could be causing hypersomnia? In my unprofessional opinion, it's either hypersomina caused by a pre-existing health/mental problem, or you are not eating enough. And why on earth are you eating sugar? That wo'n't help you sleep...
Fnorg
You should bang that maid of yours. Or like, see a doctor if the problem persists. During the entire fourth grade, I couldn't get more than four-six hours of sleep a night, sometime in the fifth grade it straightened out.

Effy in Chains
Get some Rohypnol down yourself. While there are alternatives with very similar effectiveness, i wish people would do a bit of research on Rohypnol - which as it stands hasn't been produced since 1987. On topic:TOGA62 looks like he really knows his stuff, so i suggest you follow his advice. Regarding my own sleeping problems, sometimes it will take me about 6 hours to get to sleep if i'm thinking about exams, oh and i hate it when i fall asleep during very late night films - such as The Godfather: Part II. Slamman
I was watching the latenight airing of LOST here in the Midwest, USA, I had to crash though. Your eyes feel like they're gonna fall out of your skull. An old school friend would say "I'll get all the sleep I need when I'm dead", but I know the whole lack of energy, feeling lazy, etc. I attribute some to diet, but I have doubts it's all about what you eat. There is that old expression, "you are what you eat", but no one has dissected the myth on that
Max_Powers
Ive found after several years, best way to sleep is to get extremely tired. Exercise your ass off some point during the day, ejaculate like crazy. Its quite hard without some kind of drug. I would only settle for some over the counter sleep aids or benadryl. They can develop habits and are the best for your blood pressure. Marijuana is the best but its illegal and can be quite addictive. The Hobbit on audiotape works quite well. rhyn
Go to your doctor. It could be anything as bad as diabetes and eating sugar sure isn't going to help that. SRS Incorporated
Qumulys
Hey mate, I really sypathize with you. I am having similar problems with sleep. I can drop off to sleep sitting up, without warning, having naps doesn't help me much either. I agree with Toga, I suffer from restless leg syndrone, but also have very violent leg kicks (massive snapping tight of muscles) which are known as 'myoclonic jerks', which is a pointer to spinal cord damage in most cases, it not only snaps my legs but my entire body. Although some background info on me is required, as I had an accident many years ago which caused a cyst in my spinal cord, known as Syringomyelia, which has effects not to dissimilar to Multiple Sclorosis, basically MS destroys the outer surface of the spinal cord, whereas syringomyelia is destroying the inside of my spinal cord. I've since lost all use of my left leg, except in the occurances of 'myoclonic jerks' which often happen mostly as I am lying down, and particularly at the moment I am dropping to sleep. Kind of like the signal which says 'sleep time now' to the muscals gets all screwed up. It cause me a lot of pain up through my back and snaps me back to being awake again each time I drop off to sleep. So, I'm in a wheelchair all day, and I find me dropping off to sleep at the most annoying times, which seems to happen to me on most days where I find my self doing little, to no physical activity. However, I find if I find something active to do I dont drop of to sleep. My doc thinks its due to all my meds, but I think its something else, either being RLS (as my right leg is constanly twitching and moving when I'm sleeping according to my kids), or something else entirely, so if you see a doctor, let me know what he says about you, you might help my sleep problems somehow Goodluck
1ManArmy
The problem is that I don't know if it's serious enough to actually see a doctor. Either way, I just came back from school and i'm already feeling sleepy. Lol, and I thought eating sugar will help because it gives you energy, doesn't it? I know it can damage my kidneys but I can't stand feeling so sleepy. It's impossible to concentrate on studying and my exam is tomorrow lol. Btw, Qumulys, I don't know if the same thing happens to you or not, but sometimes when i'm falling asleep like half asleep I just have this weird urge in my head and my leg just jerks really hard. I don't if it's because i'm restless or what...

Gyro Monkey
I'll give you a good tip about getting to sleep my lad. Go down to the local supermarket like Tesco or Asda and buy 2 six packs of 8 Ace lager - only £2.98! Drink it starting a few hours before you intend to get some kip in you. Trust me after 12 cans of 8 Ace your body will be begging to collapse and go to a deep sleep. Make sure to eat some bread with it though just before drifting off or you'll feel like a sh*theap come moring.
McLovin2404
Pick up the first book you see and read it. Tugging at Mr Willy helps too. Eat more food...put on a movie...and you should khonk out after 10 minutes. Try not to force yourself to sleep...just let it happen. You're probably just under a lot of stress or something. FYI, I smoke weed. Works a charm.
Qumulys
Not sure why ppl are giving you tips on sleeping more...??? Anyways, to answer your question. As I fall asleep sitting up or lying down, I do get those big leg snap type thingo's (myoclonic jerks) maybe 50% of the time or more, but sometimes I just flop down. I'd go and see a doctor mate, there are plenty of other ppl who see them about trivial things compared to your problem, so don't be embarrased or ashamed. Best of luck on those exams! Naw, i'm alright in the morning it's just after I come back from school that it kicks in. Maybe i'm just naturally mentally exhausted. I spent three hours sleeping today after I came back though. My test didn't exactly go well, but it wasn't because of sleepiness though. But yeah, i'm gonna ask my parents about it before seeing the doctor. Thanks for all your help and responses guys.
