Andy-FML Posted May 17, 2009 Share Posted May 17, 2009 I've passed this section of the game before but I had to restart because of that 'Load Failed, check hard drive' error after updating. I completed 'Do You Have Protection?' and am on 'Final Destination' and 'Shadow'. Both of these missions require I leave the original island, but there's a police barricade at every exit. I've hung out with Roman countless times (drinking, show, darts, etc) and have gone on countless dates with Michelle. I've run around for hours killing people but the darn cop barricade is still there. What triggers it to leave? Also, if I grab a cop car and try the Most Wanted missions or Vigilante missions it says 'error' in the cop car console. Not an actual game error. Can anyone help? Hydro_PT Posted May 17, 2009 Share Posted May 17, 2009 (edited) Hmm that is pretty weird, because Bohan is unlocked since the start of the game, so you can go there anytime and there are no police barricades. Are you sure you're going through the right bridge? If you have the GPS option off set it to on to go via the right bridge. All others that connect to Algonquin (Manhattan) are indeed closed, but the one leading to Bohan (called East Borough Bridge) is open. Check the image below. I've highlighted the bridges you can use. As for the error using the Most Wanted and Vigilante missions, that happens because you haven't unlocked that function yet. First you must complete the mission "Search and Delete" for Brucie, only then you will be able to capture some criminals. PS: Nevermind, there are two bridges you can use. The image was updated. As for the error using the Most Wanted and Vigilante missions, that happens because you haven't unlocked that function yet. First you must complete the mission "Search and Delete" for Brucie, only then you will be able to capture some criminals. It’s actually the mission Crime and Punishment when the “error” message on the police computer-aided-dispatch (CAD) screen stops appearing… that’s when that screen can be accessed for the Vigilante Missions and the Most Wanted Missions. Also, you can complete all of the Most Wanted missions (not the Vigilante Missions) from the very beginning of the game (immediately after the first mission, The Cousins Bellic)… it’s pretty easy to do, just use the police computer and manually type in the name of the Most Wanted criminal, and the game will allow you to set up a waypoint to go after them. Usefull... hunting a criminal with a Glock and a shotgun, while you are being chased by the NOOSE with SWMP10's, shotguns, M4 Rifles and a few sniper men on the roof. I just started a new game to confirm whether there are cops or not blocking those bridges, and there isn't, even before completing the first mission. Aren't you mistaking the police barricades with the tolls? They also haves cops inside and a barrier. If that's the case, just stop before the barrier, Niko will pay $5 and they will open, allowing you to pass. I started a new game and they're all gone. Another interesting thing is I can shoot hoards of civilians, even cops and I don't get any wanted stars. I'm not using any cheats or anything. Anyhow I started over and passed these missions in around an hour. Not sure what caused it but starting a new mission seems to be the only way out. Thanks anyway for the quick responses.
