Ah for f*cksake. Good night Slumdog, even though you were my Nominee and my favorite film of 2008 you have been outclassed. sad.gif

"Well Clarice. Have the lambs stopped screaming?"

You just can't beat Silence of the Lambs, man.

Silence of the Lambs by a country mile. It was going to take a giant piece of film for me to vote against this film, especially after catching it again only a couple of days ago. Dr. Lector is the most chilling character you'll ever come across, and the film was utterly fantastic. I hope it goes far! icon14.gif

Slumdog Millionaire is such a great film, I can't believe this almost went straight to DVD! The story had me gripped and I enjoyed what unfolded, but the choice cannot be clearer.

Slumdog's a flash in the pan compared to the brilliance of Lecter.

Demme's brilliant and bone-chilling psychological thriller Silence Of The Lambs is only one of three films to come out and win the 'Big Five' at the Academy Awards and didn't it deserve them. From Hopkins terrifying performance as the cannibalistic serial killer Dr. Lecter to the naive, yet determined performance of Jodie Foster as Clarice. While the plot is focused around finding and apprehending the serial killer 'Buffalo Bill', the real heart of the movie is in the confrontations between Hopkins and Foster. Great film. (Oh and Slumdog Millionaire is a pretty darn good film as well...)

Come on guys... Lecter. Hannibal Lecter.

Not Lector.

The Unvirginiser

'Answer me Hannibal, answer me or by God you'll never leave his cell.'

Anthony Heald's acting alone swings this one for me.

I can smell your c*nt!

Slumdog Millionaire was an interesting story and one that reassured my feelings about staying the f*ck out of India, but SOTL is in a league of it's own here. The first time I saw that film the night vision scene had my heart racing like crazy.

A funny observation between these two films is that I can watch Lecter pull another dude's face off of his own again and again, but I had to look away from the kid covered in sh*t in SM and it totally ruined my appetite for the rest of the day. DIDN'T NEED THAT PART.

This is a real no contest to me. SM is so overrated & over-hyped it's ridiculous. It's a cool rent, nothing more.

The uplifting fairy tale or the dark thriller that plays host to one of the most iconic, sadistic villains?

Yeeeah.

Slumdog millionaire just didn't compare to the original book, the source material used was butchered, making the film

unrecognisable to the book. However, Slumdog still managed to capture a realistic portrayal of Inida.

But come on, "I'm having an old friend for dinner..."
