Osric
Nah, the Yakuza in America is limited to Hawaii and California, but for variety's sake, we added a New Jersey one. And I will try to make the BUY Discussion Topic.
Omnia sunt Communia
Why not just use original/real-life gangs instead of pre-existing canons? Would allow for a lot more freedom and variety. Just set it in a city (maybe a real-life city or your own fictional one) and create/research the gangs to go in there. ...It also wouldn't help to call it something other than BUY_. Oxidizer
I'm bored and so I've been toying with an idea I got about the Mafia this morning with a theme of betrayal (because I'm original like that). What do you think? Ludovico Ricci is a mafioso on the payroll of Giovanni Berlusconi, the head of an Italian drug and prostitution syndicate operating in Sicily, intent on rising in the organisation's hierarchy - no matter what the cost. Having been under Giovanni's wing since the tender age of twenty, Ludovico has been planning a hostile takeover of his father figure's operation throughout the past year and is now set to reap his reward... I got a chill crime family in mind for it too, only I'm not too sure Morientes is an Italian surname. Haven't got a name for the story though but I'm thinking either The Syndicate or Power Play, not that it'll be written any time soon (if ever). Just figured I'd post this here seeing as it's the first plot I've ever thought of about the Cosa Nostra.
Osric
Having followed the advice of several people, I have posted a BUY_ General Discussion in General Chat. Now, as for getting a sub-forum for BUYG/BUYA and the like, who should I PM to get that done?
Tyler
Go to The Suggestions Forum, and Suggest a General GTA Chat.
PresidentKiller
A GTA general chat is a good idea. Sometimes you need to talk about things related to the GTA series as a whole, but "The Lounge" is a no-go most of the times.
Omnia sunt Communia
I've been toying with the idea of a Surrogates fanction called Love Is Blind: In a future where people live their lives vicariously through android bodies, or "surrogates", two people meet in a club and form a relationship. When it comes time to meet face-to-face however they soon form doubts. Can their love for eachother overcome the physical flaws of their human bodies? Will a night of passionate sex lead them to the Human Reservation and into the fanatical armies of The Prophet?

Ziggy455
Hey Did anyone ever write an old west type story? No,I remember I wrote a chapter a couple of years back about an indian induced zombie infection due to the 'manifest destiny'era. I think I actually called it 'ManDigest Destiny' Didn't go anywhere with it though. Why'd you ask? "I might have laughed if I'd have remembered how." Eminence
Mate, it was a joke. It's just that, with the release of said game, I wouldn't be surprised to see a surge of interest in the Western genre.

Osric
What do you guys think of the World of Darkness, y'know, those tabletop role-playing games like Vampire: The Masquerade and Hunter: The Reckoning? No, I am not trying to make a BUY or other Play-By-Post game, I'm actually thinking of a narrative! It'd be a crossover of the New World of Darkness and GTA IV, basically criminal stories with a supernatural twist. It'd be called Liberty City By Night and deal heavily with vampires and their underground society, as well as how it plays into the underworld of Liberty City. Oxidizer
I thought of a badass Sin City-esque plot called Under My Wheels (The Prodigy = good source of inspiration!) which is about the criminal underworld in London, centured around a hot thirtysomething-year-old woman who illegally exports classy cars overseas, and a shadowy and ruthless kingpin whose car was stolen by said lady's organised gang. It's completely loaded full of sex and extreme violence; I love it. If I can be bothered to write it (...), it'll probably be a one-parter, but quite a lengthy one. Eminence
I wanted to leave it at that but I'm sure some people would probably take offence at that these days. You know, even though it conveys everything I wish to convey and you, Andy, would completely understand it. But I suppose this waffling will balance it out now and ensure that nobody views me as being a hypocritical fascist dictator or something. Or something. Osric, I've got no idea about what those actual games are, but the prospect of you writing a narrative sounds intriguing. Unless you're dead set on it it'd be nice if you steered away from fanfiction (why set it in Liberty City when you could just as easily set it in your own place and it's all yours?), though as far as fanfictions go it sounds more interesting and unique. Your brutal grammatical regime and soul-destroying replies have turned WD into the Fourth Reich! 'Course I'm only jokin'. But yeah, that smiley summed up my feelings on the idea when I opened the Word doc. for it again this morning. Though here's the summary I had for it that probably would've made it sound a little bit more appealing : Chelsea is an underworld car dealer exporting illegal vehicles overseas and is currently auctioning a black Jaguar her organised gang stole from a shadowy and ruthless kingpin who is hellbent on reclaiming his ride. Unbeknownst to her, her latest amour Leon is actually the notorious criminal in question and he wants to get back at her from the inside. I've got a badass ending and some quality scenes in mind for it but I don't think I'm genuinely interested in it enough to actually develope the damn thing any further than the fantasising-about-it stage (please tell me I'm not the only one who does that ). Rhoda
I keep drifting in and out of this place. I'm pledging myself to be back for good. Back for gooooooood. Yep. I went there. So yes, hello, few things held me back. Had a bit of a bad back which at 19 was a little annoying. I felt I should have been round garages, drinking cider and chatting 13 year old girls up that giggled whenever I said "penis". You'd think I'd have more time to sit on my Laurel, drink tea and write but it was a bit more distracting. I'm better now and I've been working on a few little pieces after I realised I've not done anything all year. Also, this photo is for Andy/Oxi/whatever he's called this week, but it's not exclusive. I just get the feeling he'll know what it means more than others will. The only real reason I'm so proud of it is after 2 years of owning the mask I finally have a stand to keep it on.
