Plus, you're being too negative. A power sharing deal with Clegg will be the best outcome. Cameron can push through his plans to regain some sense of order in this country and Clegg can prevent any laws that are too right wing. Thus, protecting working class folks like you and I. Tyler
Damned brits. Glad I'm Irish, your politics are too damn simple to me. Typhus, have you ever heard of Skinned Tom? Oh, and in actual writing news, I started using a system for developing my plot and characters now. Living out there lives and writing down all the things that come to mind in one day, then describing why he or she does those things. Be it the past's haunting embrace or heretic traits, which makes the character deeper to the audience and is used alot by writer's more commonly known. Oxidizer
And just to jump in on a current discussion point, I don't really rate reading fast. I can speed-read should I have to, but I'm a fan of "picking it up, putting it down, picking it up, putting it down". I'd read 10-20 pages, take a break, and then come back to read a few more and the ball just keeps rolling. If it's a damn good book and I've ball-all else to do, I'll thunder through it but otherwise I take my sweet time. That's exactly the same as me. Only, I can't speed read even if I wanted to; I skim (but that's only usually if I don't find what I'm reading to be interesting). Otherwise I read so. damn. slowly., which I don't mind 'cause then I get into it a lot better. Regarding politics, Nick Clegg and David Cameron? They're so far up each other's arses and look so alike it's like watching twincest (and not in an appealing way).
Typhus
Typhus, have you ever heard of Skinned Tom? I'm afraid I haven't. Please, enlighten me. It sounds pretty cool from the name alone Oh, and I got a new book through today. Weird California, it's brilliant. These guys have searched all the states in America and come up with all sorts of crazy discoveries. If the guys who make GTA read this stuff, then Liberty City would have been a lot more interesting. In New York there used to be a house with a crazy guy in it. His wife died and he had her tomb in his front garden. He also hung dolls from his trees so it looked like a line-up of dead babies swaying in the wind. Cities and towns are filled with quirky, creepy stuff like that. With my writing, I'm focusin more on Portland Chase at the moment, trying to think up a good event list of things happening, and I'm writing my second and third chapter to that zombie piece I posted on here - I can't think of a permanent name at the moment so I'll call it Desolation. But it's just how I feel, I'm sick of this sh*t country pissing on working class - I worked my balls off in school for my grades and to conservative - That's not good enough! You have to be rich to be educated from now on. I wish I was back in America... She's travelled around the world, conducted herself with great dignity and poise, safeguarded the monarchy in a changing world. She's far from an idiot. I am proud that she is our Queen, she does England proud. So has the Pope, are you proud of the Vatican, Rome? She's a monarchy sure, however what has she actually done to this country FINANCIALLY? The further into our recession we get the more bullsh*t spews from everybody's mouths. Why are you proud of this country? Let's look at it shall we. We're the second country to have most underage teenage moms, we're the country where we pay for other peoples health plans and taxes while they spend them on 'House extensions'. England is one of the poorest countries as of now. England will only get worse due to Cameron the c*nt. England is full of Chavs and slags... England is turning to sh*t, and you're proud!? Jeez, no offence but I'll agree if I'm entitled to my education and we get out of this recession. But conservative don't care. Typhus
England is turning to sh*t, and you're proud!? I will always be proud of England. Our history, our culture, our compassionate and brave nature. Too often, anti-establishment sentiment - as you just expressed - is allowed to cloud the minds of the masses. People like you spew criticism after criticism, predicting doom and decay at every opportunity. Face facts, nothing will ever be good enough for people like you. Because you're not even willing to give others a chance or open your mind a little. No, the Queen is a f*cking idiot - end of. Sounds awfully dogmatic, doesn't it? I don't dislike you, I don't have a problem with you, but I run into your viewpoint everyday. You people cling on to hopelessness like an old widow. Everything is wrong or corrupt, you never give anything a chance, you had the established order simply because it is the established order. You have no real ideology beyond pissing on what belief structures already exist. You are weak and your outlook reinforces that weakness. You have no real ideology beyond pissing on what belief structures already exist. You are weak and your outlook reinforces that weakness. Wrong wrong wrong. I piss away on other's beliefs? I never had a problem with politics, with parliament. You may love your country but you just don't seem to understand. You stick to old patriotic rules in which the goverment is a fair and legal system. Where britain is the dogs bollocks and we run everything smooth. You get this attitude and outlook everyday from people because alot more are starting to believe in it, I'm not weak because of my view. My life was fine until Parliament decided to throw me off my A level course, stop me from applying due to cash troubles and blaming my working class upbringing on the rest of my future. I don't have a problem with you, however you're simplistic belief of 'Britain is fair, it'll come through fine.' is getting old - it USED to be fair, now parties are chosen by the goverment - you think Voting really does anything? Ha! Conservative are going to piss on your face and there's nothing you can do. And the Queen? I don't see her speaking out for working class. Oh wait that's right, she wouldn't dare come to my house to speak to me. I don't want doom, I loathe decay. I just want a fair britain, you think one where the rich get all the advantages and the poor get ignored is fair? Dogmatic? I never really cared for questioning - I have a catholic upbringing - you think I haul my ass to church every god - damn sunday? NO! I've questioned everyting before I believe it. Including religion - consider me an unpractising catholic agnostic. I don't criticise anything, I see things how they are being shown. And if you think my points are weak, it wouldn't phase me in the least for your opinion, it's an opinion and I will take it in because I respect you. However, I'm not going to sit by idly waiting for the c*nt cameron to throw his shackles on us, cause that's all he's doing when he gets into power. I understand you love the culture, history and compassionate brave nature - But that's going to change, england is turning into an empire of rich bastards and laboured workers. Look a little bit closer. Edited May 8, 2010 by Ziggy455 "I might have laughed if I'd have remembered how."
Typhus
Honestly mate, I've been hearing that same diatribe for years. Everything is going downhill, the rich oppress the poor, votes don't change anything, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. It means nothing. And it's not your fault for believing it, I think people have an instrinsic desire to believe that their generation has it the hardest. Look, things are going to be fine. Clegg and Cameron are going to work together. Cameron will stop Clegg from throwing away our defences and Clegg will stop Cameron from pissing on our faces. I'll admit, Cameron is an elitist, you'd have to be foolish to believe otherwise. Do you really think that a man gets to the head of the Conservative party by going to Alaska and cosying up to council estate thugs? No. But I think we need a man like him, with iron running through his veins. Because Labour has launched us into war after war. Iraq, Afghanistan, the Serbian fiasco, Sierra Leone. Playing international peacemaker whilst England degenerated into civil strife and unrest. A hard nation requires a hard man to put it back in line. But Clegg can be that balance that stops a right-wing government from sliding into far-right territory. Honestly, I think this hung parliament is a blessing. And I think things are going to be better from now on. You worry too much, don't fret about it, we're going to be fine.

Osric
Whoa, I need to pay attention to WD more. Apparently The Social Club has gone from arguing about BUYA or any other BUYG spin-offs, to arguing about the British elections. I really can't say much on those elections, since I am American. But I know there's a lot of British folks around here. So I won't pretend to know anything, and I will keep my trap shut about this election stuff. But enough about that, let's talk about writing and any ideas for future projects. It can be narratives. poems, scripts, or even BUY games and Play-By-Post RP games. I have several ideas, mainly trying to find a good idea for a BUYA II.(I know it's getting old), but I also have ideas for narratives. The problem with any of these things for me is trying to maintain patience and time.
Oxidizer
I think you should just start a BUY_ topic and see what happens. It's better to have one place where you can all specifically talk (or argue as is the case ) about it rather than continually bringing it into here. The only problem is the topic will probably get locked.
Tyler
Unoriginal's Official Newswire: Alright, let's get to the first thing, Ziggy... What's up with you man? You seem tense lately, kind of like this guy Nah, but Really, tell us what's up there. __________________ About that whole Character Development thing, basically: 1. Name and make a physical make-ot of your character 2. Live a day in his eyes 3. For every action he takes, think back to why he does it(Basically making another nove by living his life, but only in your mind) 4. Here's the hard part, deliver your character without saying all of this, or even most of it. The point of it is to make him more alive, not to add moe pages to your novella. Hope I helped, ask if you need more info. _____________ To Typhus, It was an old tale about a kid who used to be a real ladies man. One da, he'd gone too far and acciddently slept with someone's wife, Unbeknownst (Holy f*ck that' looks wrongly spelled) to him. Well the husband caught him, stabbed the wife with a knife, then proceeded to skin tom while he was cuffed to the bed te man caught them on. To this day, people who go around the house see ghostly figures of moving muscles and bone. Pretty freaky, since I heard it not too long ago, and the house happened to be a couple miles from my current adress. _________________ Anyways, does anyone like to write in First-Person, ad can do it very well? All the gangs have been featured in The Sopranos except the Yakuza. The One-Niners are originally from The Shield, but they are essentially stand-ins for the nameless African-American street gangs featured in the early seasons of The Sopranos, such as the gangsters that helped Brendan Filone jack trucks.
