Sunrise Driver Posted May 10, 2009 Share Posted May 10, 2009 PSW Magazine recently published an article in their magazine saying that Microsoft only had a 6 Month Exclusivity Deal for 'The Lost and Damned' add-on for Grand Theft Auto IV. This means that the add-on will be released on August 20th 2009. So everyone get ready because it will come sooner rather than later! But Take Two did state that these two $25m payable installments received on receipt of the episodes were a "loan" which makes absolutely no sense... why would they need a loan a year after GTA IV? PS3 will simply not receive this content if Microsoft own the publishing rights to it. Which if this is the case I don't care who you are or what you say TLAD will be available on GFWL before Christmas. It will boost the profile of the service and give them some kudos 'ahead of steam'. If there is anything guaranteed in the world that would be it. But we don't actually know this for sure as nobody has actually seen this mystical contract nor the terms revealed. Exclusivity can just be timed and would make sense if this was a loan; as surely Rockstar would have to return it after an exclusivity period has elapsed but this clause would leave them free to release it on other formats. Under such an arrangement whereby Rockstar would own the rights they would keep all the xbl and psn revenue and microsoft would get the exclusive period and their money back. Win Win. Never heard of either of them, but in terms of exclusives, Xbox is meant to be getting MGS4, that would be a huge blow to PS3, its like something as good as Halo 3 going to PS3, or GOW. The PS3 isn't getting TLAD, simple as that really. I don't really mind because I would much prefer that the PS3 got its own exclusive DLC anyway. However, I'll wait to see a reliable source before believing any part of this rumour. I read about this yesterday, and was kinda hoping to whole fanboy-ism side of it would be left out. Ps3 i own one love uncharted, mgs, killzone but this really is an xbox live thing. 360 fanboys used to say that mgs would come to 360......what happened there. mmm chocolate Posted May 10, 2009 Share Posted May 10, 2009 how does the 6 months thing make any sense? ...it's already been six months and more since GTA4 was released. does it mean that PS3 users will have to wait 6 months after the 2nd DLC is released? ...that also doesn't make much sense either, as the games would be kinda outdated and it would be silly to release them so much later. I still say 'wishful thinking'...and just because someone puts something in print, doesn't make them credible, anyone can write and print an article, it doesn't mean R* approved anything in it.
