Looks nice. But, why THE HELL a pentium?!?!?!?!

Get over it already. Besides, it's an easy swap if I ever decide to invest in a proper Core 2 Duo or Quad. smile.gif

Is common sense now so rare, that we should call it something else?

Looks damn neat!

That photo of the open case and the coffee just there gave me the shivers. I've spilled all sorts of stuff on the desk, mostly

bottles of beer.

You'll hate my PC's "case" then. tounge.gif

I personally would have gone AMD, its just as cheap as 775, just as fast, but actually has a possible upgrade path... (AM3 will be used on AMDs Bulldozer CPU)

Bloody good temps though, I get 30c load in 20c ambients. (Currently 20-30c ambients, roughly 30c-45c load)

Yeah fair enough, with a Lian-Li though? Oh well, better be getting a PhII or i5/7 soon then tounge.gif

Nice case Joe, CM690 is way better though. (/Joebait)

That thing was tighter than a virgin horse rider, that's why...

Hence why I'm getting a way better Lian Li case.

Oi. I just ordered me some new supplies. The sleeve I used for the SATA power cable on the previous page will be stripped off again. I've just ordered 20 metres of Master Sleeve from Caseking.de. It's quite a lot denser than the other stuff, and it's a bit thicker, so I'm still not sure whether it'll fit properly, but I'll find out soon enough. tounge.gif

I probably won't get my package before the weekend, but I reckoned I'd spend that getting wasted, anyways. smile.gif

I've had a similar setup. tounge.gif

Plus in "normal" times it was always like these:

Time for an update. I received the aforementioned package today, containing a bunch of quality sleeving, some heatshrink, a 140mm Xigmatek fan to replace the stock Lian Li one in the front of my case, and a few other goodies.

A Xigmatek XLF-F1454.

20 metres of Master Sleeve from Caseking.de. This stuff is quite a bit tighter than the other stuff I was using, and doesn't reflect the light as much. On the other hand, it's quite thick, and takes up more space than the other sleeving, so I'm still a bit iffy about it being able to fit properly.

Much better...

The thing it's replacing.

I've always found the case quite cramped, which has made it a challenge to route cables and such properly, and as you can see in this next picture, swapping the front inlet fan isn't as easy as it could be.

You have to move the hard drive cage to be able to get the fan out. Thankfully this was only a matter of removing five screws, and sliding it back a wee bit.

Four screws at the bottom, and one in the front.

All clear.

End result. Looks much nicer than the old one.

Yeah, an entire update devoted to swapping one lousy fan. Things will get a bit more interesting once the weather allows me to paint and whatnot. smile.gif

New fan looks much nicer than the old one. The blades are a bit weird though. Nevertheless looks excellent spinning and a nice job on that sleeving.

Very nice, although again I don't like glowing LED fans tounge.gif

But it still looks great, so crisp and clean. Nice pictures as well icon14.gif

  • 1 year later...

Picked this project up again after what I would refer to as a brief artistic pause. rolleyes.gif

Painted and covered in some black foil to keep the paint from scratching, soldered on a new eject button and placed it so that it sticks stealthily out the bottom of the case.
