Omnia sunt Communia
RobberiesStore robberies make a welcome return from Vice City. To rob a store simply walk in and aim your gun at the cashier. A bar will appear at the top of the screen indicating the cashier's fear level. The more afraid he is, the more money he will hand over, be warned though; once that bar reaches red he will set off the alarm and you'll have the police to deal with. Everybody has their breaking point and it varies from person to person. Different weapons will also raise a person's fear level differently. Aiming a pistol at a person might not scare them as much as assault rifle but it will certainly work alot better than a knife or baseball bat. If you are able to own (or extort) stores, I have a neat idea. Those store could be robbed at random times. Kinda like when a rival gang would attack your turf in SA. Hopefully you wouldn't have to fly across the map this time. Anyways a criminal or rival gang would rob the store and you would have a certain amount of time to save the day, or loose an amount of cash. You do own the stores, you simply extort the owner into paying you protection money. Though I guess you would be tasked with actually protecting the business - since that is what they are paying you too do. You could be warned that they are attacking one of your businesses and you have a certain amount of time to stop them before they stop paying protection money. The welcome return of the hardware store would be nice for all the melee style weapons. I had that in mind when I was choosing the melee weapons - I want there to be various places to buy weapons in Las Venturas. Not only will you have the hardware stores (for melee weapons), but you will have Ammu-Nation Stores (for low-level and mid-level weapons) and some contacts who can sell you some high-level weapons and equipment. And instead of the internet, I want some numbers in the phonebook/billboards that you can actually call this time! Johnny could make some funny prank phone calls That would be interesting! It would be a great way to pass the time and make use of the payphone anonymity. You would have to dial the number manually, of course, but there would be a good range of numbers to dial. I'm going to include that if you don't mind! Sounds like a good idea. Thank you. I appreciate the suggestions as well.

visionist
Included a new game-play feature: "Grifting." Credit goes to visionist for inspiring this addition. Thanks Jacky I've had a thought for the final mission inside Johnny's uncle's casino: back then the biggest hotel in Vegas was the MGM Grand, the first "super-resort". It burned disastrously in 1980 -Click-. Im thinking the final mission could involve the shootout taking place during the fire, which brings a new element into GTA: escaping/avoiding the flames whilst shooting through enemies. Instead of flying rats, environmental kills! A ped standing around near each one. You can of course repeat them...
Omnia sunt Communia
I was pretty set on giving Johnny's Uncle (who is still nameless - if anybody would like to suggest a name be my guest) owning the MGM (or the Las Venturas counterpart); I didn't think about the fire though. Maybe he could set the place ablaze after killing his Uncle because I wanted the last mission to have a classic shout-out feel about it.

Omnia sunt Communia
I'm still working on the weapons list, so if anybody would like to make some suggestions then go ahead. At the moment we've worked out the list for sub-machine guns: Low: Grease Gun (M3) Mid: Uzi High: MP5 We've also got the shotguns outlined: Low: Break-action Shotgun Mid: Pump-action Shotgun High: Lupara (sawn-off) Now all that we need is names and modesl for the low and mid level shotguns. I've also got the assault rifles sorted out: Low: Ruger AC55 Mid: M16 High: AK-
oldage
Maybe in the section of the RPG-flamethrower etc.. place the M249, also in VCS. http://www.intrudershop.com/mmc/images/AEG-03/AEG-03-08.jpg and for assault rifle, maybe the QBZ-95/97 http://www.nazarian.no/images/wep/717_qbz-95b.JPG and normal Rifles: the FAL http://www.ninjalawyer.com/public/FAL/FAL3.jpg IMG tags not working Edited April 29, 2009 by oldage
Omnia sunt Communia
The M249 SAW is possible, though it was only produced in 1976 and I'm not sure whether or not it would of hit the black market by that point in time - I don't know how fast these organizations operate. As for the QBZ-95/97: They weren't produced until 1995/97 (thus the reason for their names) meaning they wouldn't exist when Las Venturas was set. The FN FAL isn't really a popular model - especially in the criminal underworld. I've already got three assault rifles which I think is enough for now, thanks for your suggestions though. Here is what we've got so far: Pistols Low: .38 Revolver Mid: High: .45 Magnum Sub-Machine Guns Low: M3 Grease Gun Mid: Uzi High: MP5 Assault Rifles Low: Ruger AC556F1 Mid: M16A1 High: AK-47 Heavy Weapons M249 SAW RPG-5 Edited April 29, 2009 by Jacky Fiend

visionist
Relacing one of the shotguns you could have the Atchisson Twin-A 12: click Produced in very limited numbers in the early 70s, a top contact could obtain you one of these automatic asskickers. Or take one from high level law-enforcment

I decided to let the SAW slide, since I wanted a high-powered machine gun in there somewhere. It isn't that much of a stretch of the imagination to have it included in-game. You would only be able to buy it from an illegal arms dealer, anyway. As for the MP5, it would of been used by the SWAT and FIB at the time so it only makes sense that you can use it too. El Zilcho
Don't worry Jacky, for all the ideas we interchanged via PM, I haven't forgotten about this little jem! I love what you've done here, it's great. The layout is cool, and I like the story too; not to mention Johnny's characteristics. I can't wait for what's to come, and this is definitely a piece I've been, and will stay around to watch. Pr0xy_fl00d3r
I love this idea, Its great, I've been wanting to see a seventies LV thread around here. I love the whole "Being sent out to create an empire in the name of the Gambetti's". Will you be creating a map anytime soon? Why not add some mini games such as: Texas Hold 'em poker Blackjack Roulette Why not list various businesses which you have the ability of taking over such as small time car dealerships to Casino's to your very own drug smuggling scheme. Just random thoughts. What Id like to see in this thread: Vehicles pictures of characters similair to the ones in Majestic city List of gangs In terms of vehicles I could see this heading down the old muscle car route. Remember that scene from Diamonds are forever? Las Venturas strip in the 1970's would be awesome however:

I love the whole "Being sent out to create an empire in the name of the Gambetti's". Will you be creating a map anytime soon? Hopefully. I'm still working out what I do and don't want to include from the real-life Clark County. Why not add some mini games such as: Texas Hold 'em poker Blackjack Roulette I included gambling in the gameplay features section, those games will all feature in there. Why not list various businesses which you have the ability of taking over such as small time car dealerships to Casino's to your very own drug smuggling scheme. Just random thoughts. That would sort of be irrelevant, since there would be a wide range of stores to extort. As for the businesses you own personally; I'm still working out the storyline or that. What Id like to see in this thread: Vehicles pictures of characters similair to the ones in Majestic city List of gangs In terms of vehicles I could see this heading down the old muscle car route. Remember that scene from Diamonds are forever? Vehicles are being worked on, as for character pictures; I'm working on that too. I need suggestions for gangs though. I've currently got three mafia familes (Gambetti, Lupisella and Spilotro), a African-American gang based on Supreme Team and maybe a Vietnamese and Irish gang. visionist
Since the map will quite possibly be bigger than SA's then large scale pilotable aircraft could return. It depends on how much of a pilot Johnnie is.
Omnia sunt Communia
I'll include the Fly-US but it wont be flyable. Why not? Because Johnny is a mafia associate not a airline pilot. I'm happy to include some of the smaller planes since they will be useful for traveling across the desert but I don't see the point in having a passenger jet because the map wont be large enough to actually travel anywhere in it without having to land again. Most of the cities are grouped together in the southern half of the map with Las Venturas with Muskrat being up in the north. EDIT: Updated the first post to include descriptions for the cities and towns/villages in Las Venturas County (except Las Venturas). List of gangs to come soon.
