Anyways, either they are using us as test subjects for how much sh#t can custumers take or they really are the masters of lameness...

 

I think we should all rape their e-mail boxes with our complaints until they figure out how much of a failure they are and commit suicide, leaving new jobs for real programers that so much need to work.

Hmm, maybe it doesn't always work then. It does on my XP installation.

I HATE THIS PATCH!!!!!

game was working fine before. now it is almost un-playable.

Really damn annoying how choppy it has become. it ran smooth before and now the new patch just killed it.

I dont mod so i dont have anything to worry about but yeah now the game is really laggy.

i tried lowering resolution, graphix quality from high to med on everything, turning off definition, turning off vsync. NOTHING WORKS/MAKES IT BETTER

 

they better come out with a new patch asap to combat this one,*( patch the issue caused by the patch. ) *

I mean are you serious guys at microsoft? patches are supposed to make a game better isnt that the idea ?

 

I need to contact microsoft somehow about this. it is just BS.

if at least i knew what the hell they were trying to fix or improve.. im sure it was some stupid trivial fix and even then they manage to screw the game up. just incredible.

This is sad, now I just spend my time in Free Mode, I had a lot of respect for Rockstar after the 3rd patch, but some of my it got lost because of this. I am sure they will fix it but I am curious to know whats taking them so long? All together 29Pages

Yeah for those looking for where the GFWL and xLive folders are they are here.

 

make sure you can see hidden files,

 

in vista (probably similar in xp too) it is in

 

(your user name) *the folder up one from my documents* \ appdata \ local \ microsoft

 

ALSO I FOUND SOMETHING ELSE........LAUNCH GTAIV (SAFE MODE).EXE

 

it can be found here.

 

C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\GameExplorer\{5C8900B2-0A0E-41DA-B7B5-C915BA604722}\PlayTasks\1

 

just keep digging...you'll find it

 

i will try to run the safe mode and see how it is. will post back soon.

little to no change in safe mode.

i tried it just now. it launches the game fine and loads from where you left off fine.

it just loads lowest graphics settings at the beginning.

It is still choppy though. ugg.

 

i gotta do something productive like studying for the big upcoming test i've been trying to forget about.

Oh man ived just "install" xliveless...the game runs smooth now...i would say better than before the GFWL update...but maybe iam just excited that i can play the game now.

I dont know if ill go back to GFWL even if they fix the problem.

Playing L4D is EXACTLY what I need right now too. Dude!!!....thanks for reminding me. I said it earlier, I'm so stupid. And, damn it, the Steam shortcut is right there too....oh my.

 

Besides, I'd rather just leave GTA alone until they fix it. I don't, FFS, want to make it worse and then have only myself to blame do I?

Oh, BTW - your so right you can't be wrong. They sure could learn a lot from those Valve guys. They're the smartest f*ckers on the planet in my book.

Fixed sp stuttering for me, just downloaded.

Use task manager to kill gtaiv.exe if your screen goes black during the update.

I can confirm the update removes stuttering for me, I get no black screen it loads just like before.

Just let me wrap up this poker game I got into after L4D and I'll (hopefully) also confirm a working GTA.

if only we could get the same performance as 1.2 ... it was awsome since i am in 1.3 i had to lower things to get around 30 fps -_- while being on 1.2 i was getting 30-40 all settings to max or close but view distance @ 30,30,30,8

 

now its like 15,25,25,4 -_-' and get only 19-30 fps >.<

I did not have to uninstall anything, just downloaded and run it, now the stuttering is gone, phew .

 

I am still amazed how the patch got released causing such a problem, now if only they implemented proper anti cheat into GFWL.

Well. It's fixed. But you can't help thinking that it wouldn't have happened in the first place if it wasn't there (obviously, it wouldn't).
