New WINDOWS LIVE update

I think we should write as much emails to Games for Windows and Rockstar as possible. The more emails the higher the pressure on them.

Definitely agreed, and i also agree with the posts above me.

 

I think someone should post up the required email adress we need to post too, and then whoever has written a letter just say so, or add it to your sig.

 

That way we could get everyone to write a letter, and maybe someone would listen.

I have to say this has definitely done GFWL some damage. I was a bit bored and missed my GTA 4 so I RESORTED to a mod yep that is one of the signs of the apocalypse, CharmingCharlie used a MOD. In this case it was the xliveless mod, the difference is like night and bloody day. With the xliveless mod it is lovely and smooth again with GFWL it runs like a dog with all four legs chopped off.

 

I have to hope that Rockstar learn from this and next time tell MS where to shove their Games For Windows Live interface. It is such a shame that Rockstars name is being sullied with MS's behaviour.

Agreed, all game developers should boycott the MS GFWL for their inconvenience and lack of supports. I hope all developers aware of this.

The preferable method is to temporarily use xliveless. This should allow you to play SP with no problems but you won't have access to any of your save games. I haven't done it myself I will simply wait for a solution. I believe this is such a major issue affecting nearly everyone that a fix will probably be issued in the next 48 hours.

Took me 2 hours to get to play the game after install, performance sucked, updated windows live, still sucked, patched the game, it was decent but still, now we got this update and it sucks... EVEN MORE omfg

This is a LIVE update, for LIVE, made by Microsoft, being downloaded through LIVE. It has nothing to do with Rockstar.

Yeah .... from a forum moderator, its not an official statement at all, M$ hasnt spoken a word.

 

It has however been extremely nice to be able to vent on this forum, and to hear all the complaints without the topic being locked and people banned for badmouthing the allmighty M$ and R*, most boards are so "loyal" to the game/company that a discussion like this would have been impossible, very refreshing and very much appreciated.

I also resorted to a mod, this time xliveness or whatever its called hehe. Well its a great mod, not exactly as if i can play online anyway, no thanks to the sh*tty GFWL service not letting me log in.

rated by 0 users I'll post here again to remind people that you ARE still bound by the terms of use, you're still expected to behave in an adult manner while posting on the forums.  We are working on it, a fix is on the way.  We do in fact do testing, which does in fact take time.  It wouldn't serve anyone well if we were to find the problem, "fix it" and then immediately push out that fix without ensuring that the fix doesn't cause any other problems.  The people insisting we should test but also insisting we should fix the problem the second it occurs seem to be a bit disconnected from reality.

 

The development team has been working on this issue since it was first discovered, most of them pulling exceedingly long shifts to identify and work towards a resolution on this issue.  I think people may be a bit misguided if they think that when a bug like this happens it's just business as usual or that we're all hanging out bowling in the hall and drinking margaritas or something.  Issues like this are a big deal, and the work to get them fixed in a timely manner involves many people working very hard.

after installing the new LIVE upadate, the game runs like sh*T!!!

 

 

the game is stuttering upto 10 times per minute, completely unplayable!!!

 

and i did not experience this problem before this new live update

Next GTA title R* needs to tell MS to go suck lemons, the whole GFWL thing totally sucks and R* North needs to retake the reins too and get the next 1 bloody right the 1st time
