How has the WINDOWS LIVE update affected your GTA 4 ?

woohooo. i was just about to uninstall windows live and go back to a older version and install xliveless.. i still might do that.. after they fix the problem (xliveless) cause online SUCKS... 3-co-op missions.. what kind of crap is that.

I hate petitions, I hate signing them and all that, I always get spyware and crap.

But I really think something needs to be done about this.

We are customers of Microsoft and they broke what we use Microsoft for.

 

I mean if it was not for the GFWL logo, I would have busted into

making it Linux ready by now.

 

Well never the less. I made a petition. and it's in a wordpress form

so it isn't just some weird spooky site. it's simple and no sign up.

Email addies can be as fake as you want. I.p. is only real one time though wink.gif

each time I get 50 signatures I will email and CC them to GFWL and IGN.

Until the replies stop, or until something is done, or at least an apology.

 

 

So everyone I step up for this one.

I was getting stuttering in MP as well as SP yesterday. As I was shutting down last night I noticed that there was a new patch available for XP so I installed and went to bed. When I flipped on the game today my MP wasn't stuttering anymore, but SP still stutters. Been playing MP exclusively for a while so at least I can still play that, but I notice there a lot fewer players than there were 2 days ago. But at least I can play so I am happier. Still like to see the whole thing resolved though.

For those of you requesting an official response, this is what I can say officially:

 

We are aware of an issue effecting the gameplay of Grand Theft Auto IV for PC, and we are working to resolve it as quickly as possible.

But them knowing about the prob and when they can fix it are 2 totally seperate issues,of course they know ffs they aint blind.But weather a fix will be rushed out is another thing.

 

Anyway Im not bothered eaither way,Im one of the buggas who the game hasnt worked for since the 2nd patch.

Oh iam glad in a way to see that the sttuterings in game are caused by windows live,coz today after i updated the windows live and start to play for the 3 th time the single player story i was thinking my gpu video drivers may be broken or smth...Eh...all we can do is sit tight and wait for another fix update...

Till then ill play Gears of War...hahahahahaha...i hope they didnt messed that game up too with this windows live update

It's nice to, uhhh, remind them too. And ya, we're not a quiet bunch en masse are we? I do, unfortunately agree with the idea that telling us the obvious and avoiding the much bigger question of when makes things worse. Even a bit scary.

Very, very sorry to hear that. Honestly. You should have seen me back in November trying to run this on my P4. Which was, oh ya - 4 months ago. Still though....I hate that people are having issues still. You can trust me, when you do finally get it going. You'll quickly forget all this, as I hope to as soon as she's ready to run again.

Ya - I'm sorry man. As far as I'm concerned they owe you as much as the rest of us, perhaps more....but...keep up the fight, it's well worth it when you're in there with your jaw dropping all over the place.

I wouldn't count out another R* patch just yet. However, no matter what I say - your game ain't running. All I can really say is that I've seen it like it should be (though there are higher settings OMG) and it's everything I thought it would be and much, much more.

Customer service? Mein arsch.

 

Next game brought by either for GFWL, i ain't buying it, and i'm sure many with me.

Get it right or stop developing at all, this is pathetic! (i have to use and offline "mod" to play properly)??

 

Not to mention i paid 50€ for this crap... thanks ALOT, money grubbing whores! :[

Hahahah what a bunch of fags this windows developers are...they messed up Gears of War too...screen is tearing like hell...freaking fa**ots

And yes thc_404 iam with u...next gta that will come for pc i will not buy it ...iam going to download a crack vers. of the game from one of the warez sites out there for free...and u said the absolute TRUTH "Get it right or stop developing at all"...Coz when this game came out for Europe on 3 December...actually i got it on the 2nd December,i rushed from work directlly to Media Markt and buy it..i didnt even blinked when i payed the 44 euros...i was the very f*cking first from my town to buy this game...anyhow when it came out i did support R* and buyed their game...and they gave me for my money a bunch of problems...nice trade.I for instance i will not buy any other pc game...instead ill download the games i want to play from warez sites...and ill do that untill i will see that a company will write on their pc game box : "We guarantee that the game runs 100% perfectlly and has no glitches or problems on the hardware that we recomand[...]Also if at any time u want to return the game back to the store where u brought it for any reason feel free to do it and we will return ur money back".That is my opinion of fair trade when it comes to pc games...if the companys that makes games cant do that...ill keep downloading crack versions of the games and iam sure that many others will do too...maybe this will lead to bankruptcy of some pc game companys and on the pc gameing market will remain only those companys that are worthy.

Cheers for the reply,but Ive seen what the game can do and yup it did totally blow my smelly socks off.......loved it,easily best GTA yet and I just Lurrveeee my GTA games!!!

maybe it wouldnt have been so bad if the game didnt work from day 1,then at least I wouldnt have seen all its greatness before it got snatched away from me icon13.gif

edit:Just had a quick go online and it crashes after 5 mins like it has for weeks.But singleplayer stutters about every second or so for 30 mins then crashes.I dont get it,same game but online and singleplayer have different problems.

 

Look Im usually a pessimistic f*cker,but I really dont think M$ or R* have a clue how to get this game running on all computers....I hope they prove me wrong tho icon14.gif

I was prompted to get the GFWL update and I agreed to DL it but I got an error. It will not let me download the update, probably because its bugged. Does anyone have a direct link to download the GFWL Patch? Is GTA IV MP shot because of the update?

I am also experiencing this issue since the GFWL update. Before the game was smooth as silk, now it stutters so much it is nearly unplayable.

 

I am running Windows 7 Build 7000 on an intel core i7 920 @ 2.66 ghz with 6 gb of ram and a gtx 285, so there's no excuse for performance issues like this.

 

 

 

FWIW, uninstalling GFWL, reinstalling an older version I still had in my downloads folder, and refusing the ingame update prompt fixes the problem, so it is definately related to the update on my machine.

I am having the same problem after the update. skipping alot, takes a long time for the main menu to come up. so, screw it, i tried the xliveless and moved my save games over, WOW, back to normal, unless you like playing online. which i dont care, my RIG is not fast enough. If you want to play single player only, xliveless is perfect fix for the MS bullsh*t update.

Yessss well u can play in MP but only one room shows and when I get on there only one shows and if two does, the first one dont work and the second one loads but then cuts me off and goes back to SP

Day 3, now I can safely say f*ck you M$, this is incompetence beyond words, either revert the f*cking patch or fix the f*cking patch, if you cant fix it here and now then pull the damn thing back to where it was before you destroyed everyones computers, how bluddy f*cking hard can it be to understand such a simple concept.
