Nice, something more to look forward to. I've been playing through New Vegas again with some mods (Project Nevada and Extended Weapons Mods) and I really like it. Can't wait 'til Big empty.

Blargh, looks like I have to wait until one semester, hope more DLC out by then. My reinstalled FNV screwed up again. Too many crashes after like one and half hour playing.

Ohh! Too many pain for a short time for fun. Ditch the gamebryo next time, Bethesda. Too many bugs.

So, the third DLC is already coming out this month? I have Dead Money and Honest Hearts, but I didn't get to Honest Hearts yet. I just completed Dead Money like an hour or two ago. I managed to get all 37 gold bars by getting them to go through the force field right by the exit (not the one Father Elijah goes through), and I picked them up on my way out. Honestly, one more beep and I would have been a goner. At my barter skill, that's nearly 400,000 caps worth of gold!

Also, Honest Hearts seems like it will be awesome. They actually added .45 ACP ammo, and I was really hoping for the devs to do that. So, how does Honest Hearts compare to Dead Money? Is it as tedious, or are you allowed a bit more freedom?

Imagine the freedom of Far Cry 2 Canyon landscape if you manage to play this game. There is not much of an action into this journey and you can kill the enemies real fast at 37 level. Don't take with you weapons, food or aids too much since the entire map is full of them in about every corner. The Map is short.

Isn't there the option to cap at 35? That's what I'm going to do with future DLCs, f*ck been overpowered; it's one of the things I hated about FO3.

If I wanted to be a master of everything I'd just use console commands.

Does anybody know some quests I can do to get my NCR fame up? I beat the game so I can't do anymore story quests to get my fame up and I want to get the key to the NCR safehouse.

Camp McCarran usually has some good rep. Like first recon quest, bounty hunting, finding a snitch and vault 22.

I already did all of those confused.gif. Are there any lesser known quests?

Well, the forlorn hope camp has some quests too I believe.

Personally on a new char, I easily got the safehouse from doing HELIOS One and McCarran quests.

(Also the Mojave Outpost ones)

Just playing through New Vegas again and just met Veronica. However, this meeting is different since I've seen The Guild recently;

But she still has those eerie demon eyes. Hope Skyrim ditches that. Always creeped me out in Oblivion.

Most of the beauty of that screenshot is from ambient occlusion, which I enabled in my drivers through the program Nvidia Inspector. I made NV use the same ambient occlusion method that was enabled for the Gamebryo engine in Fallout 3 but not NV (as well as setting it past the maximum of 'Quality' to 'Very High Quality'.

The mods I use that help though are;

Ojo Bueno Texture Workshop

Ultra high res textures that are quite demanding.

Nevada Skies URWLfied

Awesome weather and realistic lighting mod.

Fallout New Vegas Configator

Tool that easily helps you boost graphics option past the maximum and can improve performance if you enable other options.

I also recommend using the 'NVSE 10b 4GB Loader' is you have more than 2GB of RAM for increased performance as well 'Fallout Mod Manager' which helps a lot with mods in general.

Thanks man I just got it, don't worry about how demanding it is my pc is a beast haha icon14.gif

In all honesty it's not the PC that's the problem, it's the shoddy Gamebryo engine. It can't handle the 'Very High Quality' AO, ultra high res textures and all settings put to the unofficial max, since it stutters quite badly in some areas of the game and has long loading screens at times.

For my optimal performance I set ambient occlusion to only 'Quality', use the 'high res' but not 'ultra high res' textures from Ojo Bueno and set 'Grass density' to the highest number (I have a GTX580 overclocked, i7 920 2.7ghz and 12GB DDR3 1666mhz RAM).

Been playing through this on my new machine, f*ck FOOK is great, although it messes with some of the darker racial face textures on some npcs for some reason. And Satchels is a f*cking livesaver (the new clothes are pretty awesome - i'm sporting the Searchers armor). I'll grab that Nevada Skies mod, that looks great. And I'm still in love with the Gobi Campaign Scout Rifle.

I was trying to hold out for the next round of DLC so it feels like I'm getting more out of it when I start Honest Hearts but waiting till July 19th for Old World Blues to drop so I can finally crack into it is becoming difficult.

Been playing through this on my new machine, f*ck FOOK is great,

What I love most about it is the way it categorises Aid. No more scouring through the magazines and chems whilst I'm looking for some water to drink.

The adding of the Fallout classic and 3 weapons is cool too, as well weapons having their full names.

There's also this:

It has a talking toaster of some description in it, which I can only assume is a Red Dwarf reference. This is a good thing.

Anyway, I only recently got my mitts on the game a week or two ago. I'm loving it so far, I've thrown myself into it and got to about level 27 and I've only just set foot on the strip yesterday. Gotta say that it feels a lot more like a traditional RPG than the last instalment and, on the whole, is better for it. For once, it seems like there isn't going to be an opportunity for me to do everything in the game in one run through, not because of the "Oh wow it's so big" factor but because I'm going to piss off some guys and it's actually having an effect and there are many places I'm shot at on site or just flat out can't get it.

This is the first RPG I've played in a long time too where I'll bring a companion if I don't have to. For once in a Bethesda game, the allies just work and are easy to manage, shame it took them taking a publisher role and somebody else developing to actually get there.

Edit: Also, f*ck cazadores.

I bought this game a couple weeks ago at Best Buy for $10. It's pretty good but some things just don't make any sense to me. Even with I use Stealth Boy even before the enemies see me, they can somehow still figure out where I'm at even if I'm crouching.

Most likely, yeah. biggrin.gif

It's an action-RPG, so you'll have to level up the skills based on what kind of character you want to play.

Heh, yeah. I tend to only dump my Skill Points on certain skills and not really even it out much with the others. But I guess I'll have to fill out the Sneak one more. Thanks.

Dumping your skillpoints on random skills isn't a good idea in New Vegas. It worked in Fallout 3, you could "100" almost all your skills because of perks, bobbleheads, skillbooks and Broken Steel's +10 levels, but it's more balanced in New Vegas.

Wow, I didn't think New Vegas could get any better for me. New Vegas is the only game I've ever actually bought DLC for and this one looks like it's the best yet.

Which faction have to chosen to help?

Edit: Also, f*ck cazadores.

Yes, f*ck them hard. Whilst I'm at it, f*ck Nightstalkers too (little bastards).

I went with the NCR. When I'm playing games I sometimes turn into a bit of a fascist: the people will do what's good for them whether or not they want to. Their goals do seem pretty noble in the end, restoring order to the wasteland, and from what I can see they seem to have actually done a decent job of it in Cali and as such they can be trusted in the wasteland.

On my second playthrough though, none will be spared.
