just robbed the Sierra Madre yesterday... Took all the gold, kept having to restart over and over but I ended up sneaking past elijah and getting into the elevator...

Wait, you took ALL of it? Those motherf*ckers are really heavy. I could barely get about 3 or 4.

IIRC There's a trick where you could get them all, I did it for my brother when he was playing the Dead Money DLC.

Selling the gear of the endless NCR/Legion Death Squads and occasionally playing the tables kept me flush with caps, so I never bothered trying to take all of the gold.

Wait, you took ALL of it? Those motherf*ckers are really heavy. I could barely get about 3 or 4.

I spent about 3 hours total trying to get it all out... best way is to use a stealth boy then walk most of the way towards the room under the turret, once elijah opens the door (you should be on the stairs halfway towards the room, save it the moment the door opens) crawl and wait til he goes down the steps then walk the rest of the way... you should be just barely able to get behind the shield before it comes up... then walk the rest of the way to the exit....

and yea they are heavy... once I escaped the sierra madre and ended up back in the bunker, I walked as fast as I could (about the same speed as molasses) and used the big MT transporter (from beating old world blues DLC) once I got outside (it lets you teleport when over the weight limit) and deposited the gold in the safe room, sold a couple bars to the Central Intelligence unit and went on my merry way...

Yes I am a thief by trade ;)

For some reason I could never bring my self to sell any of the gold bars, instead I'd take them to my safe house and stack them into a pyramid.

Pretty sure stealth boy increases your sneak to 100 while in use.

Yep, for 2 minutes.

So, it's a bug on my end? Are there any console commands to get around this?

I got all 37 gold bars as well and decided to keep them too. To this day they're still lying on my bed in the Lucky 38.

I have like 18 of them left... used them to buy guns (I have the Fallout Classic weapon add on)... saw alot of good guns that I wanted...

not sure if I want to do a kind of soldier playthrough or another cowboy run now...

Sir Michael

Implant GRX is pretty helpful for that part. I still have all 37 bars stashed in the Big MT. Most of my caps come from the Jury Rigging perk, repairing and selling any high-tier weapon and armor I find from the other three DLC. You'd be surprised at what those White Legs arm themselves with above level 30.

my Honest Hearts dlc is glitched... ended up being attacked by everyone and had to kill Graham to finish...

gonna try to replay it later

No, I doubt that. Through it also matters who is the person you're trying to blow up. I remember barely being able to sneak my way past Deathclaws, especially the Blind ones.

Ready.

Still, there have been many apparent leaks via LinkedIn profiles that come to nothing, so...I'm just going to sit and wait for E3, thanks.

Wanting to get back into it. Have a backup of old savegames but they crash (had mods back then that I don't remember). On top of that, I added some mods to the game and I guess it's still this 'memory issue' that I remember the gamebryo engine has when modding.

Can someone help me out and get the game up and running again? Really need to completely my Sierra Madre playthrough (or better yet, get back to the savegame where I can still take the snowglobe, and recontinue my DLC's playthroughs).

Also some suggested mods would be nice :).

Try using NVSE with the 4GB exe along with NVAC

If you have the game through Steam (which I'm almost certain you do) and you want to use the Steam desktop shortcut then simply put the NVSE and 4GB exe files into the game's main directory.

Backup or delete the original FalloutNVLauncher and rename the 4GB exe to that. Now when you start the game via the original Steam shortcut it'll run the game through the 4GB patch.

This however disallows use of the launcher where you configure the settings and mod load order. For that simply use LOOT to manage your load order. You can also do it by hand with NMM (load order management is a lot easier than Skyrim).

Once you've got those 3 files installed I highly suggest watching this playlist by Gopher:

Good luck! Hope you're at least able to get your save back

Really getting all sorts of errors. Executables not right, I verify integrity of game cache and then it is willing to boot but crashes....

I didn't remember having mods in FNV was this hard...

Decided to replay again, and be the bad guy this time.

Can anyone recommend me some weapon packs? I just want there to be more weapons. I mean where the f*ck is the AK.

Okay. Start on a fresh install. Put the NVSE files in the game directory and start the game. To see if NVSE is running then on the main menu open the console and type getNVSEversion. It should give you the current version if it's running.

After that download the 4GB exe and copy the .dll and the .exe to the game directory. If you wish you can rename the fnv4gb to FalloutNVLauncher and still use the original Steam shortcut like I said. Make sure to move the original launcher somewhere else for safe keeping.

Should that work then a loading bar should pop up when you go to start the game instead of the launcher. If you get to the main menu then it worked. By this time NVSE and the 4GB exe should be working in tandem. See if you can load into a previous save without installing anything else.

Although I am no way near to the end of the story on my current playthrough, I'm thinking of starting a new one on hardcore. Possibly role playing as a stealthy thief, might be interesting.

I feel like if I was to restart on hardcore, a stealthy thief would suit me well too. Get plenty of caps, loot and kills, if done right.

I booted up my old save from NV from a few years ago. Never beat the game, and now I'm glad I never did because it's refreshing. Been dominating the Mojave with Veronica and her handy powerfist 'Pushy'.

I have Old World Blues and Honest Hearts for DLC. I haven't touched them yet, but plan on it in the coming days, don't know if I want to keep exploring, start progressing through the story more or do the DLC.

Also, for the first time for NV or 3, I travel without the radio playing. I didn't realize how creepy the background music/sounds is. Very fitting.

If you wait too long to do OWB, all the enemies will become bullet sponges. Depending on your build, ammo can get a little scarce at first. The enemies become drastically stronger every tenth level so try going in at say, 36 instead of 40 (for example). Ton of great loot in this DLC.

The reverse is true for HH-- there's no challenge doing it after level 20 or so. At least it adds some nice crafting recipes.

I got my ass kicked on Honest Hearts by the Yao Guai. and I was level 30... right now Im having difficulty with Lonesome Road and im about level 40ish...

also with Old World Blues, the Monsters have around the same level as you and go up when you go up so its challenging at any rate.

As far as getting killed by a Yao Guai, sounds like user error :p

Enemies in OWB will get boosted only every ten levels, along with upgraded weapons. Same deal with nearly all enemies in every DLC, actually. The difference with OWB and Lonesome Road are that they're (barring skill checks) designed to be more difficult as you level up, not less. Whether they actually are or not depends on the individual user.

I always saved Lonesome road until I had done the other DLC's.

It just felt better going in as a really experienced and well equipped warrior. Stepping into the depths of hell as one final test.

Ah, FNV. I remember I tried this game for a few hours and then gave up. I pissed off the wrong people, and so their assassins were blocking my path to the main city, New Vegas. Too many choices in that game -- unnecessarily convoluted.

I feel ya, it seems like everytime I travel between spots I'm getting attacked by Legion assassins. Sometimes I'm sneaky enough to avoid them, or lead them into other enemies.

The Assassin's are free loot.

For a man that claimed to not care about money, Caesar certainly contributed mucho caps to my Courier Retirement Fund with all the armor and weapons he donated.

He's truly a saint.
