Edit: Also, f*ck cazadores.

The wings are the weak spot. Cripple the wings and you can out-walk them, even if both your own legs are crippled. They're really that slow without them.

I bought this game a couple weeks ago at Best Buy for $10. It's pretty good but some things just don't make any sense to me. Even with I use Stealth Boy even before the enemies see me, they can somehow still figure out where I'm at even if I'm crouching.

What's your Sneak skill?

Not very high. That's the problem isn't it?

Most likely, yeah. biggrin.gif

It's an action-RPG, so you'll have to level up the skills based on what kind of character you want to play.

Heh, yeah. I tend to only dump my Skill Points on certain skills and not really even it out much with the others. But I guess I'll have to fill out the Sneak one more. Thanks.

Dumping your skillpoints on random skills isn't a good idea in New Vegas. It worked in Fallout 3, you could "100" almost all your skills because of perks, bobbleheads, skillbooks and Broken Steel's +10 levels, but it's more balanced in New Vegas.

Yeah talk about it, my Character in FO:3 is a super tank with 100 Small Guns and Energy weapons skills with like 9 or 10 intelligence and 100 lock pick and science, and a few other high skills, not to mention 10 strength.

Though New Vegas, with perks being every other level, I only have about 75 Guns skill and about 70 Energy weapons, of course i still have 100lockpick but i botched my science and I only have 91 now (and im stuck on it cause I'm a level 30)

Anyhow, despite all of that I still though new Vegas was easier, maybe cause of there Jury Rigging perk so i can keep my hard to find weapons working. (like the YCS/186)

So yeah don't go blowing your skill points on random skills, it can be your downfall.

Now, dose anyone know if the DLC's are coming out on disk? Or in a GOTY like thing with FO:3 that has all the DLC in the game, been looking for awhile and I've found no results online. (No PSN due to dial up confused.gif)

That overhanded weapon glitch while sneaking is fixed. That was the main thing wrecking my buzz.

In the patch, they made it so Hsu took Motor Runner's helmet off you when you completed the bounty. If you already completed it, you're f*cked (unless you're on PC).

Who the flying f*ck HASNT done it.

It is the same with adding a save before the endgame for people with 1 save. It still doesnt fix the problem, it just means nobody else will get it, yet all the people that were loyal to the game for all this time and played it since day 1 get f*cked.

They still havent fixed the reload animation bug, reloading lever actions while running causes your character to become useless for 5 seconds unable to do any action.

This is utter sh*te, I am gunna get the first dlc achievement then im turning this off and going back on oblivion.

I haven't because once I've competed a character I make a new one, and my current one hasn't done the bounty yet.

I've had no game breaking bugs and I've fixed most of the annoying ones with unofficial patches from modders, so I guess I'm quite lucky.

I've been playing my first play of this for about two weeks now, and it still feels like there's so much to do (I've only just got around to going on to the strip). But seeing as OWB got released today, and I have 2200MSP in the bank I thought I'd invest in two of the DLC addons. I'm definitely going to get OWB because I love the whole "SCIENCE!" kick in Fallout and it's right up that alley. So, seeing as I'm 200MSP short of getting the full set so far, should I hit up Dead Money or Honest Hearts? I'll end up getting the missing one in the future, so I'm not writing one of them off completely.

Personally I thought Honest Hearts was exponentially better than Dead Money.

Agreed. They have two very different themes, though. I think Dead Money could be just as enjoyable if you are in the proper mood for it.

This is true, but the theme of Dead Money is the primary reason I disliked it. It was fun, but it was much too linear and constricted; it just didn't feel like Fallout.

That's pretty much how I felt at the time, as well. In retrospect, I think I would have enjoyed it a bit more had it not been the first DLC. I'm planning to complete it again with a new character after the rest of the DLC has been released.

Is this a question or you're saying you made a discovery, some sort of glitch because the level caps works only when you get a new DLC.

I like the atmosphere. It's very dark, depressive- almost survival horror inspired. Quite immersive, too, but somewhat linear.

I've just got Old World Blues, but my current character is in Zion at the moment so not played it. Absolutely loving some of the addons from AG's Supplementary Uniques (here). Particularly the 20mm anti-material rifle, "mosquito" mini-missile launcher and the Wildcat .45 pistol-

Started playing Old World Blues tonight, and so far I'm loving it. The chatter between the scientists at the beginning was quite enjoyable, and for any Venture Bros fans, one of them is voiced by James Urbaniak, and his character's personality is extremely similar to Rusty's. That tickled me quite a bit.

One thing we do learn is that a certain paranoid scientist is responsible for Nighstalkers and Cazadores. Not only that, he believes that they are sterile, docile, and unable to escape from their compound in the Big Empty. If only he were correct.

Dear god. Where is he and how can I f*cking kill him.

A pacification field is in place, leaving you unable to draw your weapons whenever in the laboratory.

Also, (story summary) the way the field works is that you end up getting lobotomized. Your brain is then replaced with Tesla coils which are somehow linked to it. Your spine and heart are also replaced. The replacements each give you a special perk and added strength. It seems like the primary portion of the storyline is devoted to tracking down your brain, and it is believed to be in the Forbidden Zone, which is where your enemy, Dr. Morbeus resides. He of the Robot Scorpions.

I'm more surprised of finding out the scientists over at the big Empty were responsible for the sierra madre toxic cloud as part of an experiment, as well as the Hazmat suits, as a second experiment... I wonder if the Ghost people were even alive at all... Given the harness suits can work on dead people

I haven't even got OWB yet but it's huge links to the overall New Vegas story is making me really excited for Lonesome Road; 'Ulysses promises the answers the final mysteries to the Courier's story, but only if you take one last job -a job that leads you into the depths of the hurricane-swept canyons of the Divide, a landscape torn apart by frequent earthquakes and violent storms. The road to the Divide is a long and treacherous one, and of the few to ever walk the road, none have ever returned.'

OWB is in my opinion the best DLC so far, and it's been the longest lasting one. Atleast for me. The enemies are also quite challenging compared to the other content, despite my char now being level capped (45).

[sM]CJZera: The ghost people still bleed some sort of liquid, whilst (I think) the harness suits don't. So ghost people must have some sort of 'life' inside the suits, even if they've been alive for hundreds of years.

Just finished old world bues, definetely better than Dead Money (I dislike dead money, pretty boring IMO)

The stealth suit is kinda useless, I prefer using Joshua Graham's armor for the crit bonus, plus it's lightweight, so you can really run fast with that perk (that's what I do)

No, it has happened to me, so yeah discovery notify.gif

I few people on the RDR forums have encountered this as well.

For those of you not on the PC version, you'll be happy to know that the Auto-Doc in The Sink (your base, more or less, in OWB) allows you to change your appearance, excluding gender. Quite handy if you didn't use your favor to join The Kings.

I'm getting the game in a few days. I never paid attention to the fallout series so I have some questions.

- Is it a FPS or TPS? Or both?

- Any kind of multiplayer?

- I heard rumors that the game is very bugged. Are the major bugs finally fixed?

- Yes and yes. But no at the same time. It's an RPG that uses 1st and 3rd person viewpoints, don't expect CoD or Gears of War.

- Nope. None whatsoever. Better for it.

- You will encounter a number of small bugs, that's just par for the course in a Gamebryo (that's the engine) RPG, they won't be much trouble. There are a small number of major bugs, which are rare to encounter but can be game breaking. Save often and in multiple save slots.

@DLC Chat:

Thanks for the opinions on Dead Money and Honest Hearts guys, I went with Honest Hearts to go with OWB. I haven't had a chance to play either yet though. I don't get much too much time on NV at the moment, and when I do, I'm still yet to experience most of the vanilla game.

Neither. It has first person and third person views, but it isn't really a shooter in the exact meaning of the word.

No multiplayer.

It is bugged, but it won't be unplayable. Unless you're unlucky.
