Arski Posted April 20, 2009 Author Share Posted April 20, 2009 this PC runs everything fine EXCEPT IV dunno why. i know 9400GT is the problem but i wont buy a new. maybe i need to change to Saints Row. my friend got 9400GT and it runs fine. i have plaid Far Cry 2, ProStreet and GRID Driver all run almost on maxium without any lag, smoooth play. Again your system isn't powerful enough to put everything to max and have it play nicely but my system E8200 oced to 2.84GHz, with an 8500GT which is less powerful than your 9400GT at stock but oced to the max on Rivatuna with 4GBs of Ram can play it with Highest Textures and something like Ultra High Filtering or something with about 25-40 FPS. So oc your things, with caution, to the max they can safely go and you'll find GTA 4 runs great. I'm fixing the game at the moment 1.0.3.0 patch screwed things up but so far patch makes it run even better than the original 1.0.1.0. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

EDIT: HEY! need some help overhere, i got a really annoying problem. when i start IV, i got No-lagging playing it doesnt lag! windowed mode everything medium @ 1024x768! like 30FPS! then when i have played like 2 minutes it starts to lag... to 15FPS... how this is possible..? and if i push PAUSE and dont touch IV for 5 min it doesnt lag again, where is the problem? it cant be low RAM i got 4GB. pls HELP! CptAlph Posted April 23, 2009 Share Posted April 23, 2009 Stop denying it, your GPU is the problem. 9400GT is not powerful enough, its not considered a gaming card. If I were you, continue playing how you are now, or sell that gpu and get a 9800. With a 9800 you will see much better fps, and to be honest, forget that stupid extra ram, and get the 9800. Its only like $140. Actually, it's cheaper than that. You can pick up a nice 9800GT from TigerDirect for $99 (with a $30 rebate). Totally worth it. I recently upgraded my computer from 2GB of RAM to 4GB, and the video card from an 8400GS (blech) to a 9800GT. I put the RAM in first to see how much of a difference that alone would make, and there was no noticeable improvement. Once I put the video card in however, the difference was immense. oc student Posted April 24, 2009 Share Posted April 24, 2009 Yeah I'm serious though this is only on 800 by 600 res. It's called highest render I think not ultra high lol. I've tried higher resolutions still playable but a bit laggy. The speeds are 690 core 1380 shader and 470 memory. Basicly everything except memory is maxed out since I got the slower DDR2 version. Riplet Posted April 24, 2009 Share Posted April 24, 2009 Hey guys, just my 2cents here - I personally have a Dual-Core @ 2.5Ghz, 2GB of RAM and an Inno3D 9400GT 512MB, just like OP's. I have my game playing at 20-40FPS, at 800*600, medium textures, everything set to high and 0 on Shadow Density and View Distance (using the farclp3500 mod for this) Even though I have a 22" widescreen I'm quite happy with the game as I am aware of my poor hardware, I am expecting great improvement when I'll buy a HD4870 and a new PSU, I am planning to OC my processor to around 3.8Ghz as well, which should result in gameplay as smooth as my current gameplay at way higher resolutions and settings. anus Posted April 25, 2009 Share Posted April 25, 2009 (edited) Get this Sapphire HD4830 for 97.90 €. If your father can get it cheaper, a 1GB HD4850, 1GB HD4870 or a GTX260 216 would be great. Oh and you're going to have to overclock your CPU because it'll be holding any good card back a LOT. If you don't want to do it, explain to your dad and ask him to do it for you. A 9800GT will be good, but it's a lot more expensive where you live from what I've seen on the site.
