As I said, I love formation feature, because I love to play tactically. gorgonut Posted February 25, 2010 Share Posted February 25, 2010 (edited) I ve been testing version 1.521 (haven't tried the 1.522 yet) and so far so good mate! I played group elimination and hostage rescue missions without a crash so far. I like to mention the following; -Liked that you can continue a drugs dealing mission after you die and get out of the hospital (perhaps that could be optional too from the ini file). -Liked the reinforcments which arrive in a car in order to support the contact which sets you up. -Liked that the red arrows over the enemies don't disapear when you kill them in group elimination and hostage rescue missions. Maybe that is fixed in the latest version but I liked it because it created a confusion in the firefight by don't knowing immideatelly who enemy is alive and who is not (until everyone has been eliminated). - Bribe feature is a very clever idea (forgot to mention it earlier). Also enjoyed when I was in the prison, I was going near the exterior wall, calling for a backup which apearred outside prison, escaped over the wall and making a getaway with the backup who was waiting outside. Also could you change the following (don't know again if they are fixed in the last version 1.522); -The cops were shooting at the enemies at hostage rescue missions, but not in the group elimination missions where they were just passing through the firefights. - The wanted mission was again starting not only when aiming at a friend but at a contact too. I ve wrote that again in a previous post (aiming at a contact was better when he just shooted back and his reinforcment were arriving). It had been changed but in the 1.521 version the wanted missions are triggered by both friend & contacts. -Put in the ini file the number from which the bombs countdown would start in sec (e.g. 15) because now I think that you have to wait quite a long time before the bomb explodes. Overall, I had some time to play continiously without crashes and I ve enjoyed the gameplay very much! Thanks PS; In what you ve asked me, I wasn't using taxis to get to the spot where the hostage was held, but usually I was using a taxi in order to go to another island and then I was meeting with friends/contacts to buy a vehicle and start a mission. When I start GTA4, the mission keys are very responsive. But after I call 3 backup guys, the responsiveness drops dramatically. I have to hold next/last mission for 2 or 3 seconds to cycle through missions, and when I start a mission Niko takes out his phone, asks the contact if they need help, puts away his phone... then after a little while he takes out his phone again and the contact says to meet them under the question marker. Oh and by the way, the hostage rescue text messages still say "kidnaped" instead of "kidnapped". And a lot of messages have the word "i" lowercase, but it should be uppercase, like in "Sure, I can help." HippieCommunist Posted February 25, 2010 Author Share Posted February 25, 2010 damn you're right... thank god we always have a NEXT RELEASE! and the less key's responsiveness drops coz the code runs on all guards telling them what to do and when... theres no way around it, except making a separate ASI for just the guards... but that would take SOME TIME to do and i dont think its that bad as it is. (i imagine that the action just creates abit of confusion and that feel pretty natural) but the spelling sh*t is totally my booboo, i wrote most of the text really quick handed... gorgonut Posted February 26, 2010 Share Posted February 26, 2010 (edited) After trying the last version I had almost no crashes in hostage rescue and drug dealing missions which I constantly checked. Also I had almost no crashes in the shoot outs that I cause among friends, contacts, backups and cops. I was glad to see that again when you are aiming at a contact he shoots back at you and his cool reinforcements arrive. I find it more realistic now that the contact doesn't shoot imidiatelly back, but after some time that you keep pointing a gun at him. Also the backups don't fall over the player when they are running behind him but they are keeping the proper distance. I liked too that the enemies are hard to kill (Would it be possible to be hard to killed if you shoot them at their bodies, but still die with one headshot?) A couple of things that could be improved is that the cops don't shoot at your backups when the later are shooting at civilians (e.g. someone who is punching you or hits you with his car). Also the cops some times they shoot and some times don't the enemies in the group elimination missions. The group elimination is the missions in which I had constant crashes of the game. This time not when I was driving at the point (which happened in previous versions) but after some seconds that the enemies were coming out. Perhaps it is because the enemies are too many for the game to handle. Additionaly if the cops are involved in the scene (either by chacing you already or by shooting at the enemies) there are too many people and perhaps that's why the game crashes (my pc is strong enough if it has anything to do). If other people have the same problem maybe you should decrease the number of enemies in those missions. Again it was overall a very stable version and had much fun to play and test! Well done! I had only a few crashes and generally the mod was running fine (Mostly tested Group Elimination, Drug Deals and Hostage Rescue missions)! If I have anything new I'll report back. I had constant crashes in various points of the package delivery mission with the last 2 versions. I followed the same procedure. Called for a backup then called the contact, the mission started and after a while (the longest was after the second delivery point) the game froze and crashed. Would you take a look at it please? DOWNLOAD 1.6 - aim at the Enforcement friend to get the Wanted survival mission (the final price will be dispayed and increase only when wanted stars arn't grey) +you will recive ammo every 5~6 seconds as bonus for surviving - dilvery mission now harder - crash caused by the drivebying assassins fixed try it... I ve tested the pakage delivery with 1.6 version and the game crashed everytime as I reported and for the previous version Nevertheless I liked that Niko first called for the package delivery mission, then waited for a while and he was called back by the contact. It is realistic. Secondly I liked where the spots of delivery have been put. Tricky! You must have done a lot of search. This mission combined with the Traffic Felony mod can be very chalenging. HippieCommunist Posted March 7, 2010 Author Share Posted March 7, 2010 (edited) well... imagine roman's crappy little apartment being reconstructed (i even got the blue couch ) no reason to test 161 coz its CRAP! after spending almost a week and a half on testing and finding the reason for the so called 'random crash' AAAAAS it turns out the crash was caused by the script deleting (while 'cleaning'/searching) some scripted characters such as the shop keepers and some other scripted peds. as a result; the main script has kept calling the vanilla natives on that deleted char im almost positive that its final, coz i've left the delivery mission (that uses all the different searches for enemies) on auto-changing-position-god-mode over NIGHT! it was running for a straight 7.5 hours!! it can now stand up to even teleporting really fast <<<---- happy at last! wait for tonight's release, it will also contain many upgrades with the key pressings (no more canceling mission while trying to heal a member ) CHEERS! Edit: With this new version, I don't get asked to do any missions, I only get asked to purchase enforcements, weapons etc etc, only after that can I get to select a mission. Lodis Posted March 8, 2010 Share Posted March 8, 2010 what version are you using? I have GTA IV patched to 1.0.04, I tested version 1.61 and the 1.71 release and I see the Contact on the map. When I walk towards them they offer me all sorts of weapon upgrades, cars, heli's etc etc but they never offer me any missions. I then tested a much older version of your Mod and I was offered missions as normal. I tried with your Mod patched for version 5 and the one patched for the older Scripthook too with the same results.
