(its pretty stable, only a few slowdowns which will be fixed next release) *also tell me this, do you play with Fades=0 ? coz i think i just found a bug there you have some randomness sense bro... topeira Posted February 21, 2010 Share Posted February 21, 2010 the mod seems stable to me. i dont have many crashes and when i do im not sure its the mods fault. tested the bodyguards and i gotta say they HAVE improved. nice work hippie. however there are still 3 things that could have been dont better - 1) the most annoying thing is that they still are not that responsive. i still see them stand idle while im getting shot or worse (while THEY ARE getting shot). 2) they are so tenacious at staying at 10 feet away from me or less that they usually try and use MY cover, forcing me out of my cover. i think they should have a much much much larger leash (tether) so they can grab cover farther away. right now if im hiding behind a wall than they will try to hide behind MY wall. since they can't they will bump into me, get into ragdoll, get shot, get out of ragdoll and fire (if they dont go idle) but wont take cover. after a few seconds they will try to get into cover, bump into me again, get shot and die after a while. if they could go for cover that is 20 or 30 feet away they were should to find another object to hide behind. 3) i'd love a way to set which weapon they are using in the INI. it seems like they use shotgun in close ranges (am i seeing right? cuz that's a cool feature) but other than that they only use SMGs. was hoping for ARs too. i saw one bodyguard use a sniper too thought.... just once.... 4) im still crossing my fingers for bodyguards that can go and engage enemies on their own without feeling the urge to be up your arse all the time.... doesnt seem like u r into this stuff, hippie Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I am also checking if there is a conflict (that I can find) with any other mod. @topeira; I ve seen them using sniper rifles quite often in my games. MadcapSmoky22 Posted February 21, 2010 Share Posted February 21, 2010 After some tests (will be continued) I have to report (and in full consciusness of the direct dangers from dedicated fans ) that I ve encountered almost everytime crashes (mostly during a mission or twice when the scripts where loading) I had the same thing with 1.392 version but not much -as I said above-with the 1.35 which was more stable for me. I liked the addition of prisoner and ofcource of contacts which set you up and also the group elimination mission. As for the gameplay I have the folowing suggestions/questions: -Sometimes the contacts come close to your car but they don't say anything. You have to get out (not always) in order to make them speak to you. Is this on purpose in order to make you come out of the car so they can shoot you more easily in case of a set up? (It could be that way sometimes...) -Will be possible to call for backup when you are already in a mission (hostage rescue, group elimination etc) or when you have a wanted level? That way it adds fun to the gameplay. Additionaly when you are escaping prison you ll be able to call prisoners to support you and run away together. These for the moment. Now a mod request if it is possible; Would it be easy to make a mod that makes the Alderney (New Jersey) cops to drive only noose and not police and police2 cars? That way those of us who prefer to play in New York than in Libert City could replace the noose model (which anyway appers rarely after 3 stars) with a New Jersey Police cruiser (already exists in http://www.gtainside.com/en/download.php?d...art=7&orderBy=) and the game would be much more realistic than now where New Jersey cops are driving NYPD cars. Also the friends who prefer Liberty city could use a similar skin of the car (instead of New Jersey State Police it could say Alderney State Police). The nstocade, helicopter & boats ofcourse will be the same, but the patroling cars in the streets would be much more realistic. I think/hope that it wouldn't be a difficult mod, so please consider of it. Keep it up since you are the one who don't let us get bored with this game. Gorgonut, you provocate me and Topeira to find and bust a few caps from AK in your's back!...Watch out. Because srsly, do you know how much hospital respawning costs in LC?...10% of all your money...stupid pricks! I tried to make them give it back but nothing... gorgonut Posted February 22, 2010 Share Posted February 22, 2010 From more trials I ve seen that the missions which usually lead to freeze and crash are the hostage rescue missions and less the group elimination ones. No problem so far with the drug dealing ones (Playing with fades=1). Continuing testing... I also liked that in the drug dealing missions, Niko is using his phone in order to locate a potential client. Its much more realistic that way! What about making a mod in which the New Jersey officers will drive only noose cruiser cars (mentioned in my previous post)? Is that possible Hippie? As for the updates, the community (hopefully) will show some patience in order to study your lessons, see your friends and girlfriends etc... As for the modding, I ve tried before if there was any chance to change that thing, but cops are pretty fix in cargrp.dat (police, police2, polpatriot, noose, nose, predator, pstockade, nstockade, fbi # POPCYCLE_GROUP_COPS). You can't seperate the New Jersey cops from the rest in order to make them drive different cars (only noose cruisers) at least with the knowledge that I have. So thats why I was thinking of a mod. It looks very unreal to use the same NYPD cruisers in both NY and NJ. As for the muggers missions; Once, when I was set up by a contact and after I ve killed him, I ve heard a police car ordering another car to pull aside. The cops got out and arrested the two guys in the car (but after a while the later run and got away). I didn't do anything though. Just watching the scene. I never once saw a Contact on the map, pressing next/last mission only worked 1 in 10 or 20 times, there was a long delay when starting a mission between what I say and what the contact says, then finally it crashed. gorgonut Posted February 23, 2010 Share Posted February 23, 2010 Tried the hostage rescue mission (which is the one I try always to see if the game crashes) and it did crash after a while. But on this one, I am in the process to find if it interacts with another mod. I noticed too what AngryAmoeba wrote. There was a delay from pressing the next/previous mission buttons and the mission to appear. Sometimes you had to press more than 2-3 times. Also something that I ve noticed in at least the 3 latest versions and I don't know if it is a bug of the game or of the mod; If you cause a shoot out (e.g. punch the windowns of a taxi close to a friend or contact, the driver comes out and hits you, the friend/contact shoots at him and if there is a nearby police car the cops are getting out and start a shootout with the friend/contact), I ve noticed that many times if you turn the camera away from the cops then when you look back at them they have disappered! poncratias Posted February 23, 2010 Share Posted February 23, 2010 i think that the enemies are too strong in terms of their health and sometimes also weaponry. sometimes i can unload 2 full clips of the ak47 into the enemy from 2 metres away until he finally goes down, that`s somehow immersion breaking for me. I love you! Thanks alot for making auto savegame option and for the formation- I'm fan of tactic, so even if it adds only a lil bit of tactic, it's always of something. Sorry for my proritity of supporting the mod gone down a little bit...but the winter holidays just end, and you know...school...it isn't only painting big title in Girl's toilet saying "BIG DICK" but also learning (well, a little bit, hehehe!). Do you have any ideas for solving this conflict? If I have to choose between them, I would probably pick Traffic Felony. I find this a bit strange though, because I never noticed bad slow-downs with v1.45 + Traffic Felony... Also personally I'm glad you made an auto-save ini option, because I want the game to auto-save after default game missions but not after contact missions.
