I don't want to go off-topic here, but I think San Andreas could be considered more "realistic" than Grand Theft Auto IV. The whole "eat or die" thing is more realistic than some of the features people complain about in IV. Graphics and physics are the only things Rockstar made more "realistic" in GTA IV.

You've got to remember that IV was a new game on a new console. Rockstar were limited as to what they could and couldn't do within the time they had to release the game. They might of wanted to include airplanes, or whatever other features, but just couldn't get it to work properly on the new engine.

I think the new features implemented in IV are fun, and I hardly miss the ones taken from us. I was never that fussed on dancing or bodybuilding anyway. IV focused on what GTA should be about; crime.

Just remember, Grand Theft Auto is a sandbox game, a truly creative person will be able to sit in the box and find all sorts of fun things to do with the sand - while a less imaginative person will just sit there; bored.

That last line is pretty good.

You forgot about one type of person though, the ones who will take a sh*t in the sandbox, and then complain about the smell.

Madden, FIFA, NBA, all sports games

Sports GAMES are made for people who suck at real sports but im so lazy that im trash at simulated sports yet all my mates are all like "Dude come on Madden 09 came out we got to get to Gamecrazy" and we go there and they bum rush the counter trying to get the "Madden 09 Pro Pack" while i pick up a used New Super Mario Bros.

I agree. GTA4 got rid of the fun stuff we would want in a GTA game and added boring stuff like dating friends and all that. San Andreas at least didn't have the whole dating thing as a requirement, not even for 100% so these who complain can take it somewhere else.

Dating in GTA IV is only required for 100%. If you're not aiming for 100% I don't see the reason to complain, as it's not mandatory during regular gameplay.

That's what I don't get about some people. They make out as if they HAVE to do this "boring stuff" when really it's optional. confused.gif

Fallout 3. Can't stand this game and will never understand why people like it at all.

Play Fallout 1 and 2 and then you'll understand the hype for Fallout 3. Never played so I can't pass my criticism.

They couldve easily added that other stuff and more if they hadnt been dicking around with the useless internet cafes, police database and call system.

They could've, but I know that the launch date would be pushed way back and I know some of you kiddies would not like that too much. tounge.gif

I think they made a good gamble though. They sacraficed they RPG aspect of the GTA:SA and went to develop a very great psychics engine.

Good for them. It gives them some leeway on what they'll add on for the next installment.

Lol. I feel the same way about those but thats not suprising as I greatly dislike sports (and usually the people that devote their lives to it.) I remember trying to play a hockey game when I was younger and was like "WTF You need like 50 controls to move a f*cking puck!" and decided to just let my friend to continue to play his game.....by himself.

Well, it is just these types of games I don't enjoy. Not specifically Fallout, it is just the most recent.

Turn based games aren't really popular now. Most people don't want to wait their turn and just want to go in there and kill every pixel that moves. Which is understandable, but the strategic aspect of turn based games can be very fun if you're a person who likes to THINK andd examine the battlefield.

Fallout isnt turn-based.

What are you on? The first two were turn based. I read that the VAC has replaced the turn based style, but like I said. I haven't played it.

My bad Beav, I forgot the "3". blush.gif

Yeah, the VATS kinda gives it a turn-based quality though.

It's funny because you once said the very same thing about SA. Something like "why should you bother with building muscle just to impress a girlfriend if you're playing GTA, a crime game."

At least dating in SA is just an extra thing that gives out a nice outfit and a rare car. But they wouldn't bother if you were not dating them, specially when not in the same city.

In IV, if you don't go out with your friends they will hate you after a while and doing it for 100% is even worse.

In IV you can't even get rid of them, in SA you can just kill them and continue your fun.

Eating in San Andreas is not a requirement "all the time". You can only really become hungry after playing around 2 in-game days without saving or eating. And who really plays that long before saving after having come a bit further in the game or while freeroaming.

I was looking through my games I saw Call od Duty: World at War. A lot of people say its the shi*t. Doesn't anyone get tired of World War II? Like, seriously. Almost every war game is WWII. The spawning, story, guns, I found horrible. Modern Warfare is the only Call of Duty games I'll buy for now on.

GTA IV: Boring, huge disappointment, don't think I've played it once since I beat it back in October. That's really the only game I've ever bought and felt completely shanked after playing it.

The Tomb Raider series: I've always hated these games. Boring, slow moving, and you never really knew what the f*ck you were supposed to be doing.

And of course, WoW. No explanation needed.

call of duty 5 had a new minigame of where you could kill zombies

I don't particularly like the Friends/Girlfriends system in IV, and definitely wouldn't care if it's not in the next GTA, but so many people exaggerate it's unbelievable.

I mean you don't even have to hang out with all the friends anyway for 100%. I think it's only Little Jacob, Brucie, and Packie.

I'm surprised no one said Little Big Planet. I like the game but was surprised to see no one said it.

Well games I've played:

Bioshock- Before I get jumped and killed for saying this, I played the demo and didn't like it much. The game looked great (Graphically), gameplay was alright, but something in me didn't like the game and I honestly can't put my finger on it. But then I went to a friend's house to play it and same problem.

Need For Speed: Undercover- I know some people who really like this game and Gamespot gave a fairly positive review, but I haven't even finished the game yet. It was fun after a while but it does get repetitive, do race, get points to make a car better, repeat. At least in Most Wanted you did races to face a boss. Just about the same thing in Carbon and Underground 2 was for the contract thing I believe.

Call of Duty 4- Did the game deserve near perfect scores, I believe so, but this game honestly doesn't need to be worshiped by so many. It is a great game, I popped it in last night and had fun playing single player, but it really doesn't bring anything new to the FPS genre except good graphics and a story that you actually focus on. For example, Killzone 2, great game, my favorite game, one thing that I believe separates it from others, the cover system. It is actually a good cover system and the action doesn't really slow down when in cover. Call of Duty 4 kind of brought nothing new except again, good graphics, good story, and a good online.

Mercenaries 2- My friends really liked this game so I decided to buy it. It was fun, but it was pretty mediocre. The enemy AI was brain dead, missions kind of became the same thing, and gameplay was pretty good. But it honestly didn't need to be that hyped up. I saw a commercial for this game on just about any channel that could show it.

Exactly. Last time I completed SA, I didn't ever date Denise even once, and she never bothered me nor did the annoying progress bar show up on the screen a single time. I tried to date her after a long time only to get rid of the annoying dildo in my weapons inventory and to kill her right after then she dumped me.

How long did that stuff stay entertaining for? It was more like "Oh cool, a police database" *after searching a couple names* "Yeah im over it now, lets get back to the killing."

Same with the internet, the TV and all that other crap. The radio worked because you could listen to it while committing mass murder.

I didn't necessarily hate it, but I didn't really enjoy Vice City. I have no idea why, it was a real cool idea, but I just had no real connection to Tommy Vercetti so I was bored and really didn't care where his life went. I really tried to love that game because so many people did, but I really just...couldn't. Also recently, I wouldn't say I hate this game, but I realized how pointless the concept of The Sims games are. Why would I want to make a life for some fictional person when I could be doing the same things in my everyday life and experience them which is way more satisfying? After this phenomenon hit me, I was done playing those games.

Games I like that people hate...True Crime New York I actually enjoyed, I can't say I love it, but I did enjoy it minus the really sluggish graphics and terrible buggy gameplay. And surprisingly I preferred Vice City Stories to Vice City, go figure. I really liked that game even though a lot of people had issues with Vic being too nice or whatever. I didn't think so really, maybe a bit, but it made him more real. I also really loved Def Jam Icon and I seriously have not heard of one person who really liked it. It was fun, I think the controls are a little complicated and it stands nowhere NEAR as good as Fight For New York, but it was still a fun game and a nice concept. I can see though why people wouldn't like it...it pushes it, but I didn't mind that.

Vice City, deleted it after a few minutes cause it sucked. Plain and simple. I don't get why people think it's so good.

World of Warcraft, or any strategy game. I always try hard to not look annoyed when one of my friends talks about strategy games to me. I prefer FPSs or GTA style games.
