Honestly, I can't see what's so great about a game where you jump around in blue and pink space armor and beat each other with lazor swords. Anyway OT, I can't really understand why do many people play WOW. I can kind of guess that its addictive and that you do start to get cravings every now and then but i don't get why they spend the massive monthly amount all the time? You do realise they're all pretty different from each other in terms of storyline, characters and even gameplay (Yes I know, all are turn based but have different systems for levelling, attacking and FF12 even does away with Turn Based) right? Generally they consider 7, 6 and 9 to be the best games in the series. they are too cheesy and complex This I don't understand, generally people dislike the Japanese roleplayers because of their simplicity when put up against Western RPGs such as KOTOR/Elder Scrolls. And I don't understand why people would hate having McLaren F1 and Bugatti Veyron with possibly endless modding ability in a game. What more do you wantt? I f*cking Zelda, it looks like such a gay game series. And the fact that the main character, is what, a boy or girl? A tranny by the loks of it, I can't even see what sex the damn thing is. What's so great about Zelda, is something I'll never understand. First of all, you're putting a game down because the main protagonist in the game has long blonde hair? And you also clearly state that you haven't played it yet, so how can you state whether it's a bad game or a good game? Ocarina Of Time is one of the finest games that has ever been made. It sounds like something I'd love, but I bought it and hated it... I tried playing it again a few months later and hated it... then maybe a year later I tried again and still hated it. With GTA I can't put the game down... with this game I wanted to put it down the entire time, but would try to stick it out and give it a chance or whatever. The second one does look a bit better though. It was like one of those Scifi Channel Original Movies, where it's a movie about dragons or aliens or whatever and I'm like, "I like dragons," but the movie sucks because it's a made for TV SciFi Channel Original. Vice City; I don't really hate it actually, I like it, but it is by far my least favorite GTA and everyone else seems to think it was the best so I figured it could show up in this list. Zelda Ocarina of Time, again like VC I do like this game... but I didn't think it was great by any means and there are people out there that seem to think it was the best game ever. The way the game works makes it very easy to permanently make a mission uncompletable should you do something the devs didn't expect, locking the game into a limbo state where you can't fail the mission or win it. The graphics engine pixalates all the sprites for no reason, and for some reason EVERY object ANY mission will need is spawned at the start of a level with no protection whatsoever, and never respawns if destroyed or the game forgets about it. This includes peds and cars, so it is entirely possible to end up with a level with nothing in it whatsoever. Hell, I've done it. So: GTA III – Don't get me wrong, it is a good game. The problem is how its fanbase seem to worship it like it's the best GTA around. Sure, it brought what we now have to the table but it was far from perfect. Dumb story, a blank slate of a protagonist (some call it his "mysterious"-ness), repetitive gameplay (doing vigilante and firefighter in EVERY damn island), extremely dull visuals and lifeless feeling of the city except some parts of Staunton (some call it "darkness"), rubbish soundtrack, aweful NPC AI (especially the traffic in the tunnel), Shoreside Vale - the worst case of "wasted space" in any GTA (I’d rather be in the desert of SA) and the fact that you can’t travel most of the city without every gang trying to kill you, once you’re done with the story. Pay attention, I’m not complaining about the lack of features. I never mentioned jetpacks, bikes or swimming here. I swear, even if I’d played it first I would’ve still hated most of those things. Yes, I admit that I played this after VC & SA. The weird part is most of those things I could’ve actually over-looked to have a great experience. It’s a long story. I was recommended GTA3 by one of my friends who hated SA (which I had played before) and urged me to try this claiming it to be the best one. What struck me was that almost every bad thing he criticized SA for (some that I didn’t mind before) was in abundance here and sometimes even worse. Bad story, useless side-stuff, aweful protagonist(I actually liked CJ though), crap soundtrack, pathetic AI, wasted space – everything. I heard such a lot of praise for this game and I ended up with what I believe is one of THE most over-rated games there is. Yes, it is a good game, great game in fact. I’ve completed it multiple times but it wasn’t the lack of pros but all the cons I stated that couldn’t make me like this game like some others and I’m not talking about only GTAs. I remember this time I went to friends house to play it. His mom was on the phone, so he muted the volume and because playing with the guitar controller is too loud, he played with the normal 360 controller. So this guy is just sitting on the couch using a controller to tap buttons and watching the guitar blips go by lightning fast while the sound off. It was at this point that I saw how truly pointless and repetitive it is. I know that may sound hypocritical from someone who plays GTA4, but atleast I'm not turning down the volume and not playing the guitar controller on a music oriented game! In that case, in relation to what I said before: San Andreas – Loved it from start to finish and seriously don’t understand the fuss some people make about it. Most of the criticism I heard actually didn’t bother me that much or seemed extremely dumbed down compared to GTA3. Yes, it’s a huge map but with planes, boats and helis at my disposal, its not a problem. I don’t like eating and exercising either, so I don’t do it, simple. I never ran into any hunger problems because I usually do what I consider common sense - to use vehicles and to save the game regularly. Tons of “useless side stuff”? Don’t do it. I usually like it, though. Clothing and other “SIM-like ****”? I don’t waste my time with them. Simple. Useless stats and other “RPG garbage”? They easily level up during normal gameplay so I don’t think that’s a problem. Annoying g/fs and stupid useless dating? I don’t care about them and don’t date. Nothing bad happens to me. Bad story? I think of III and I realize what an awesome story SA’s suddenly turns into. Need I go on? Couple that with such a ton of stuff to do that at least I have a lot fun with and its easily one of my favourite games that for one reason or the other is also hated by others. Vice City – Clearly my favourite GTA. Actually almost everyone I know likes it too. However, this thread made me realize that not everyone likes it. I find this weird as much as they do. But, just like them, its my own personal preference of the 80’s feel, the gameplay and the story that clicks just right with me. I don't think thats so much a problem with the game but more with the way that person is playing it. The whole point really is to use the Guitar Controller, turn the volume up and rock out. Medium is a cakewalk now. Never been so hooked on such a casual/mainstream game. I feel ashamed but yet again so proud for liking it so much. Great music!
