Triad Families in GTA IV

I'm just curious as to wether anybody here knows which group of Triads appear in which missions in Grand Theft Auto 4?

 

I don't have a DS so I can't check this myself but I'm quite interested to know.

It's not mentioned, probarly the guys Hsin leads.

It is implied that it is the Jaoming Triad as they are known to supply the Angels of Death and Korean Mob with narcotics, which is what you are stealing off them as Niko. They are also seen in Chinatown, Algonquin which is Jaoming Triad territory.

In GTA IV, are there Triads in Cerveza Heights?

They do not spawn around Cerveza Heights, no. Only in Chinatown and Fishmarket South, Algonquin. Though places like Sum Yung Gai and Huang's first safehouse are still there; albeit with a few minor aesthetic changes.

 

I'm guessing that the Lee Triad and Ming Triad grew to prominence during the time between GTA IV and Chinatown Wars. Either that, or we simply do not see them during IV. Each Triad is know to operate separately so it is no surprise that we only see the one.

A gang doesn't grows that fast, they we're probarly already there, but we just didn't see them.

So it's The Jaoming Family in all missions in GTA IV and TLAD?

 

I just thought maybe they were indentifiable by different colored clothing or other defining characteristics. There does seem to be different types of Triads around Liberty City so I just wanted to know which was which.

There's no distinguishing differences between the different Triads, as they are all dressed in casual clothes. The only way you can tell them apart from regular Chinese citizens is the fact that they'll pull a weapon on you if you attack them or threaten them.

 

In Chinatown Wars, however, all Triad gang members wear purple. Though there is still no difference between the three Triads apart from when and where you see them.

In GTA IV some wear suits, some wear shirts and leather jackets, some wear a kind of black and gold tracksuit and some wear a sort of tunic thing. They all seem to operate as one though.

 

In the different missions they seem to wear different types of clothes also. That's why I wondered if this was because they were from different families or wether it was just different clothes worn by members of the same faction.

Grand Theft Auto IV tries to give a more realistic portrayal of gangs by not giving them a uniform to where. This is part of the reason why there are so many different skins for each Triad member.

 

The chances are they all belonged to the Jaoming Triad, as they are operating within their territory and their known businesses. Though I don't have any solid evidence to prove my point.

Also look at the Uptown Riders in TLAD, they basically don't exist in Niko's story but are prominent in Johnny's. Its on the same lines of each Mafia Family on the commision has turf somewhere other Little Italy, but in IV we never see them anywhere else.

Yeah, it is.

 

Oh and btw, Kenny says in one of his missions 'I have run this terrirtory for years'. So they probarly were around during IV, they just weren't in the game.
