Low: Statistics Average FPS: 47.70 Duration: 37.23 sec CPU Usage: 93% System memory usage: 70% Video memory usage: 56% Graphics Settings Video Mode: 800 x 600 (60 Hz) Texture Quality: Low Texture Filter Quality: Low View Distance: 1 Detail Distance: 1 Hardware Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 3 Video Adapter: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT Video Driver version: 185.20 Audio Adapter: Realtek HD Audio output Intel® Core2 CPU 6600 @ 2.40GHz File ID: benchmark.cli Normal settings : Statistics Average FPS: 41.98 Duration: 36.99 sec CPU Usage: 92% System memory usage: 74% Video memory usage: 87% Graphics Settings Video Mode: 1280 x 1024 (60 Hz) Texture Quality: Medium Texture Filter Quality: Medium View Distance: 15 Detail Distance: 20 Hardware Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 3 Video Adapter: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT Video Driver version: 185.20 Audio Adapter: Realtek HD Audio output Intel® Core2 CPU 6600 @ 2.40GHz File ID: Benchmark.cli Is it me or is this just retarted ? I only gain 6 more fps by changing everything to low from medium and i have the approx. same dipps for fps, so I'd much rather loose 6 fps and have higher settings. There is no real reason for me to post this topic, I just wanted to show you guys a lame thing imo. Post your benchmarks of your computer using normal settings vs. low. and fps comparisons. Excuse me of my poor english, hope you get the point. EDIT: I know my settings ain't that high but i think that they run fine on my system. Now or Never Posted April 9, 2009 Share Posted April 9, 2009 What the hell are you talking about, whats your problem, you are getting 40fps. Its not retardet that you have only gain 6 fps, but if you are getting 40fps on your current settings you dont need to set the settings on low, the game should go super with that amount of fps. I'm not complaining about that i have 40 fps ((i'm glad) yay ) Still the game often (with low settings) hit the 20-28-ish fps, it approximately hits the same with medium settings. Using 50% of VRAM or 80% doesn't change how fast the card renders as much as you might think. The same is true with the CPU.... Given 1GB of system memory - your system doesn't run (much) faster if it only has 512MB in use, or 768MB in use, right? This seems true as long as you don't go over what is physically available. Then again, I might have just farted there I get 20-25fps-ish all on max but I prefer 55 fps with everything on 8 & 'high'. You might want to play with higher settings in *some* places, not in others. I've managed a few of the "very high|highest" settings without sacrificing fps....and the visual quality is worth "seeing what you can get out of it".
