My shadows look like this WITH definition on!  smile.gif

@bartekxyz: Hey dumbass, before calling everyone names here, at least learn to read. He did say that definition (the "p" filter) was on when he took that screenshot. confused.gif

Definition means SHARPNESS. Could someone else explain this retard what "definition ON" in GTA IV means?

Please shut your mouth off and leave everyone.

Its his taste and we have no problem with that.

I prefer to turn Definition off because of the speed and rotate camera.

But calling someone retard for this goes too far.

And hes pleased to enjoy the game.

Definition on means that the blur is disabled. Definition on = sharper image, more crappy shadows, more jagged edges and, most importantly, no ugly blur. Aslo, the shadows look a lot better when the sun is setting.

Don't worry, even R* Toronto is confused about this issue.

Really? Well I just needed that clarification I guess. I guess Ive lowered my standards and cruised around a little bit more, Indeed the game is a gigantic leap from San Andreas. I was playing crysis before I installed GTA IV, so that's probably the problem haha wink.gif

I just don't understand how they could let something like that slide? It looks awful on my 1024X768 monitor, while it may be small it picks up a lot of imperfections. I'm satisfied with the game, and feel a little better now that it's not my computer that's the problem. However, ive seen in-game screenshots of realistic shadows, not the ones I'm experiencing. Were those blurred to the max or something?

These are my current shadows:

Hi.

Did you tried to install your video card and put anti-alisning on the highest option? and try to do it in the game too

I thought this game has no support for Anti-Aliasing?

R* Toronto got confused with FSAA and AA.

Maybe they drunked too much mothermilk.

Man... In your first post you said:

My shadows look like this WITH definition on!  smile.gif

...and posted resized picture. Then I asked you to show picture without resizing and you posted few pictures with definition OFF while I was asking for screenshot with definition ON like your first picture but without resizing. You were boasting about how gorgeous your game looks with definition ON(sharpness) but are still posting blurry images without definition. And that's why I'm calling you a troll. Why can't you just admit that game with definition ON is grainy instead of showing some resampled image which is nowhere near to real in game quality.

The pictures I just posted, Most have definition on. The only one that has it off is the first one and the 5th one. Now will you stop flaming me? I never said these pictures had definition on, most do but a couple do not. I am just showing you that shadows can be smooth, unlike yours or hydro's. You seem rather skeptic about this because your picture has definition off, yet my shadows are rather smoother than yours.

I also want to know why you want this in PNG format, it takes much longer to upload and doesn't make a difference

I wasn't joking. Here.

You will only see motion blur on the PC version if the "Definition" option in the Graphics menu is set to "ON".

PNG is lossless while JPG is lossy format. OK, enough of this needless argument, ok?

I am using an nvidia card, 9800GTX+, drivers for nvidia are much better than ATI since they tend to release new drivers every week or two.

Stop that fanboy sh*t "Ow I bought Nvidia so that must be much better than ATI." dozingoff.gif

Masterk, Nemisis. This isn't a love letter in yall's honor.

But I do have to say I agree that nemis's pictures are amazing.

Bartesky or what ever his name is. Seems to know more

about graphics and images than the regular user.

But he is Stubbornly enforcing an old standard.

At one time the PNG file was the perfect "lossless" image file type.

and yes I know the difference between lossy and lossless.

But what was considered lossless at the time that the standard was created

is just crap now.

Raster

PNG can be lossless, and it can be lossy.

JPG is lossy. BMP though is crude, can be the highest

Raw and Vector (raw is dependent on the file creator)

Vector

SVG IS a vector image that nearly loses no Definition no matter how far

you can zoom in.

But again, Nemisis is just posting some pictures on a forum on the internet

related to a video game that he likes to play.

There is no need in him having to pay $1500 for some imaging software

just to prove that his images are untouched. So cranking out a different

image file type is just pointless.

His images are exactly what he said.

If you can't enjoy the game looking like his does, Wow.

I have no idea what will help you in this problem you face.

Thank you, finally someone who understands and to pharmacist, first of all learn some grammer, and second I don't see how thats considered "fanboy" material, you have no knowledge of what I am talking about, you started off saying nvidia drivers were crappy which makes you a fanboy, second of all nvidia does not release OFFICIAL drivers every week but more like beta, they are for people to test and enhance the gaming experience for users, I don't see ATI doing that and don't give me that fanboy bullsh*t that ATI has perfect drivers and they don't need to enhance anything. There is no such thing as a perfect driver, all drivers have their flaws and nvidia is simply trying to enhance the users experience, also I used to own a 3870 and the drivers were simply aweful, the 8.X drivers were terrible, therefore I switched to nvidia. I am sure ATI has fixed that by now and they must be fine because I see people gaining FPS every update but you have no reason to call me a fanboy or flame me when your just a troll looking to start some crap with other users on this forum.

Sorry. Did not mean to jack your name like that. I was kinda in a zone and didn't want to roll back a page.

It truly was not a stab, just how I remembered it.
