ScratchCard
How I'd like to see GTA V: Grand Theft Auto: Badlands Setting: As the name says - this game is set in the Badlands, the rural area in San Andreas. It wil be a lot bigger then in San Andreas, and it will be redesigned, like R* did with Liberty City. The Badlands will be 4 times the size of Liberty City, but with a lot of areas that are just trees. It will feature small to medium big towns. The biggest one will be Greenfield, considered the 'capital' of the Badlands. There is one big mountain, Mount Loris. It's set in 2009. The weather varies - often sunny, but also rainy, mist or thunderstorms. Story: The main character is Ryan Brown, who works as a criminal together with John Bryant (both white Americans). In the first mission, you see Ryan and John leaving Liberty City. They have to, because a Triad, who used to employ them, betrayed them. The Triads think Ryan and John stole a shipment of drugs, but the truth is: Ryan's employer kept the drugs for himself. When they arrive in the Badlands by car (there is only one airfield in the Badlands, which you can buy after some missions), they stay at a small house John rented. After getting settled, the two start a series of robberies. Later in the game John will call, telling you that the Italian mob has work for them. The Italian mob runs the Badlands - it's the only big gang. They own a few legal businesses around the area, but not much more than that. Ryan starts working for the mob. After some missions for the mob, the mob will tell you that the Triads are expanding to the Badlands - some counterfeit operations and a drugfarm. The guy that betrayed you in Liberty City will supervise the operations from the drugfarm. The last missions will be about getting the Triads out of the Badlands. Billy and Ryan decide to destroy the counterfeit operations and after that, burn down the drugfarm. The betrayer (can't think of a name) try's to flee, but after a wild car chase, he crashed his car in an abondend house, where Ryan and John kill him. The story will be alot shorter than IV's. Instead, there will be alot more stuff to do. Sidemissions: - After completing John's missions, you will get the open the biggest side mission in the game - robbing stores, banks and a lot more. You can call John and go on a crime spree with him, or you can do it alone. - More side missions: Cab driver (not in a cab, but in a Rancher or something), vigilante, most wanted, stealing cars etc. - You can go out with John, and friends/girlfriends you meet online. - There will be the ability to join a Biker club (Badland Bikers?). You just need to pass the test. This isn't a criminal Bikergang, you just get to drive around in a group and hang out at the clubhouse. You will get a special biker outfit. - Gun club - Races Things to buy: - A private airport - One runway, and a small hanger - A drug farm - Where you can grow weed, which will be sold and the money will be put on your bank account - Cheap clothes - In the stores in the small towns. - Expensive clothes, cars, planes, helicopters, bikes - All will be sold online - Guns - In Ammu-Nation stores and online - New safehouses - Atleast one in every town, a few 'hidden' safehouses outside of the towns - Businesses - Like stores. You buy them and the profits will be put on your bank account - Customizatoin for cars / bikes Gameplay - The driving and shooting will be the same as in IV, only now you will have a better control of the bikes. - Weapons - All the weapons from IV and TLAD, and some more (like a stungun, paintballgun etc.) - The wanted level system will be as in IV. Extras: - More to do with your phone and internet. There will be a laptop at every safehouse. - A serial killer pet with a 'Leatherface'. He will walk around, talk to himself and in some locations, you can see him killing someone. If you kill hem, he won't come back. -------------------------------------- That's all I can think of for now. El Zilcho
Nice job. It's got potential to be really good, if you add more detail tot the gameplay bits it'll be great. U R B A N I T A S

DanManUtd
I quite like this. Off-road customization for cars would be cool.

Omnia sunt Communia
Though the prospect of playing in the Badlands sounds pretty interesting, I'm worried that it would grow old quickly. The good thing about the Badlands in San Andreas was that if you ever got bored of them you could just travel to Las Venturas or one of the several other locations in San Andreas. The Badlands is a very limiting location, with little to do or see. One of the best things about Grand Theft Auto is the variety of things you can do; both in and out of missions. I believe a setting like this might hinder that possibility. Having The Italian-Mafia and Triads as the only gangs in the Badlands would be tiresome as well. Grand Theft Auto is known for it's rich tapestry of gangs and having only two would cause the game to be dull and repetitive. Also, Leone-Triad War anyone? We've seen the Italians face off against the Triads hundreds of times before.

I do Oh and btw, the Italians woulden't be the only gang, there would be several smaller gangs.
Shockwave_NewOrder
maybe there could also be redneck gangs?
El Zilcho
I think you would need at least one city the size of Algonquin and most of Alderney at least, otherwise you wouldn't have much to do amdist the huge expanses, take a look at Just Cause, most of it was terrible bland jungle. We've seen the Italians face off against the Triads hundreds of times before. Also for realism it doesn't really make sense... if you want to hide from the mafia the "badlands" is where you go because they have no presence there or any real interest in being there. If you read about the witness protection program they usually make you move to a badlands type area out west in the middle of nowhere. The triads would be the same. The only real notable gangs that you would find in this area would be bikers and to an extent out west you might find Mexican gangsters. If you've ever heard of Nuestra Familia I think a lot of those guys are from rural northern California... the way they formed was that in the prisons in California there was a whole thing where the Mexicans from the big cities in SoCal (LA area and San Diego) would pick on the Mexicans from the more rural area of northern California basically calling them hillbillies and sh*t. The southern Mexicans (called Surenos, literally southerners) worked under the Mexican Mafia so the northern mexicans (Nortenos, again it means northerners) formed their own gang called Nuestra Familia (Our Family). It could be interesting as a setting... but I do prefer more realism. If this were a game that was about bikers it could be really cool. I mean we just had that with TLAD so I'm not like super eager to see it again... but still a full length GTA about bikers could be fun and I think a badlands type setting would be better for that than a city. I mean bikers do have chapters in cities of course, but I feel like they are more known for cruising the open road, riding for thousands of miles to move meth and what not. ScratchCard
I think I'm going to rewrite the storyline and add some gangs, don't know when I will be ready though.
