Scharkey
I reformated my computer yesterday and never touched MSN Messenger or e-mail. Then, my mom signs on MSN and sees me on while I'm actually sleeping. I get up, sign on and am immedietly sent a message from myself talking about pills from www.tillshow.com. I changed my password and went back to bed (this was like 8 in the morning). I wake up and sign on and had received a bunch of offline messages from my sends saying I was sending them weird advertisements like losing weight etc. I've searched on google about MSN bots and couldn't find anything. I don't click links that I don't know where they lead and don't accept files I don't know what are. I haven't even been on MSN for awhile nor do I even remember the last thing I accepted on MSN or clicked on as a link. Can you get this bot from just adding the wrong people (like a bot) and do I need to just delete my account? Help appreciated.. really do not want to delete a 5+ yr old account. Thanks! Rebel
I've never heard of something like that. Try uninstalling msn and then installing again and making sure you change your password as well to something with more letters in. If it still happens then I'd just email MSN themselves since they could probably help more.
Scharkey
I did change my password, but I don't feel the need to re-install MSN when it does it with me being offline and I had just reformatted yesterday. My sisters husband installed MSN last night after the reformat and my mom goes on in the morning to find me being signed on and so forth.

Rebel
I just sounds like you've got some malwear or something on the PC. Have you tried running a virus scan or anything? And I'd uninstall msn, and reinstall.
Scharkey
I just said, I reformated. Unless viruses stick to the computer and stay even after being reformated.
Rebel
Well then just re install msn and see where it gets you, and if it still happens then I'd suggest getting in contact with MSN themselves or just getting a new email.

Andrew
Well then just re install msn and see where it gets you, and if it still happens then I'd suggest getting in contact with MSN themselves or just getting a new email. To be honest even reformatting it can stay sometimes. As all reformating does is remove the index to the file, the rest of the data is still there. I had an issue where a windows operating system wouldn't install due to a conflicting file. The msn thing, could well be a Virus or malware, especailly if when you did the reinstall, before you installed the Anti virus you were still connected to the internet. It doesn't take long to get infected.
Scharkey
Well the thing is it attached itself to my e-mail before I even ever signed on after the reformat. The computer didn't even have my e-mail address in it. Today is when this started happening. The message it sent to me ( from myself ) is coming from a scam company called Acai offering weight loss solutions by buying drinks etc. and I learned from another website when you click the link it asks you for your MSN and password. I've never given out my msn or password, clicked on anything or accepted any files. It's been months since I've clicked links sent from people or accepted downloads. It's happening to my friend aswell who is getting a lot of these same messages from multiple contacts on his list.
james227uk
My friend has something like this, except it says "HAHA! Is this you? == LINK ==" He's not sending them, he has some sort of malware. His AV nor Spyware software can detect it
