Connorb
Hey there, I have recently quit World of Warcraft and had a huge urge to play GTA:SA after a disappointing GTA:4, I just started a brand new game on PS2. I was wondering if there is anything I should do before getting too involved with the main storyline. Also has anyone else had this urge? - Connor
Girish
Welcome to the forums, Connorb. It's good to know that you've decided to start San Andreas again. I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy it. So, good luck to you on that. As for things to do before the main storyline, you can start off with some side missions if you like. Following is a list of things that can be done before starting any mission: 1) Firefighter Mission 2) Paramedic Mission 3) Taxi Mission 4) Pimping Mission 5) Burglary Mission 6) Vigilante Mission 7) The Roboi's Food Mart Courier Mission in Los Santos 8) The Hippy Shopper Courier Mission in San Fierro (requires you to enter 4 star territory) 9) The Burger Shot Courier Mission in Las Venturas (requires you to enter 4 star territory) 10) BMX Challenge 11) Chiliad Challenge, Scotch Bonnet (requires you to enter 4 star territory) 12) Chiliad Challenge, Birdseye Winder (requires you to enter 4 star territory) 13) Chiliad Challenge, Cobra Run (requires you to enter 4 star territory) 14) NRG-500 Challenge (requires you to enter 4 star territory) 15) 8-Track 16) Blood Ring (requires you to enter 4 star territory) 17) Kickstart (requires you to enter 4 star territory) 18) Dirt Track (requires you to enter 4 star territory) 19) Spray all 100 tags. 20) Collect all 50 horseshoes in LV (requires you to enter 4 star territory) 21) Collect all 50 snapshots in SF (requires you to enter 4 star territory) 22) Collect all 50 oysters (requires you to enter 4 star territory)
Blizzard14
Dang girish, you listed allmost everything i was about to say! You never fail to disapoint. I mostly recommend doing the Paramedic side mission because it gives you a health boost after completing level 12. Also, Vigilante gives you a armor boost after lvl 12, but thats kind of tricky to do at the beggining of the game, and without the help of the Hunter. Welcome to the forums! Smiley001
That's funny, I just started the PS2 version also. Usually it was just my PC version but since my PC has driver issues I can't get it to work at the moment so I'll try the PS2 version instead. For a while I thought most people have probably abandoned the PS2 version and have went on to the PC/XBOX360 version or GTA IV for that matter. But it's good to know there are still some PS2 players out there
Benjimino234
I actually quit and became unactive from the forums for ages. But I got back on the horse! The pull of GTA is hard to resist!
WhittyC
I would say date Katie (nurse in SF) and Barbara (cop in LV desert) as soon as possible, they come with great perks.
lloydo
Cruise Los Santos if you've started a new game, the gangs don't know who you are so you can do the side missions wihtout bother. Cruisin SA never gets old.

Jack Reacher
I just got back into GTA SA, PS2 version on my PS3 though. Funnily enough all im doing are stuff before the save file. OrionSR found a way to get bullet proof cars of your girlfriends. its very tricky, but i managed to do it and i ahve a bullet proof police ranger ( Barbaras) in my LS garrage. This make Vigilante missions much easier Soon after doing side missions you will get bored but there is still much to do before starting the main mission, such as maxing stats, getting tats from LV, and the most fun and challenging part, getting vehicles that you cant get in LS into your LS garrages
zmoonchild
Jack, you do realize that you’re responding to a topic that’s been dead for almost 5½ months, right? The person who created it hasn’t even been on the forum since mid-April.

Girish
Please don't bump old topics like these. I, generally, just let them fall off the page on their own. But it looks like the OP doesn't own a legit copy, so I don't see any point in keeping this open.
