Blue Tengu
This is my third go around with GTA IV, and my second with TLAD and I still have to use waypoints to get from one place to another. If I'm in Alderney City and Little Jacob wants to go play darts, I have to plot in a waypoint and follow that little green line. I'm just wondering if any of you are so comfortable with Liberty City that you could start your own taxi service because you know the streets so well? ikt
I don't have to use waypoints anymore. And the GPS sucks. Long routes.
Now or Never
No I dont use no way points, I have learned all the roads.
fpsmg
I don't use them anymore. After playing IV for 7 times you get to know most of the streets in the game.

Girish
I haven't played the game long enough to know most of the roads (like SA). So, for people like me, the GPS helps even though it might show you a longer path. I have no other choice but following it cuz whenever I tried going on my own looking for a shortcut, I have ended up at a dead end or on a completely wrong road. Rucke
After playing the game since the release date I know Liberty City very well. I don't need wayponits anymore, but I'm admitting I did in the beginning.
SWEETSAPRIK
I wouldn't say I know every street, but I can easily find my way around to a location without the routes. The routes are actually pretty crap, and even if you have them on you shouldn't stick to them exactly, but instead use them as a guide. It doesn't take huge shortcuts into account, it will have you go around a block rather than go five feet down a one-way, it doesn't seem to understand some bits of road where there are overlapping levels, and it can sometimes tell you to make turn after turn when you should just race down a straight away and turn when you hit the next one. The 7th Number
Way points can be annoying. Like when they tell you to take a route that makes you do 3 or 4 turns when you could just go straight, and turn and end up on the same road. Its a lot faster to take the least amount of turns, rather then too many turns even if it gets you closer to the place you are going. Also i hate when it tells you to go all the way around the block, because a road is one way, and if you went down it you would be going against traffic. Wish there was an option to show any possible shortcut, even against traffic.
creat3d22
I have to plot in a waypoint and follow that little green line. Here's a tip: don't use waypoints. Best way to learn the layout of the city If you always rely on the GPS, it makes you pay too much attention to the little radar instead of where you are/where you're going. Just try to get to places without it and eventually it'll become easier and easier. You can practice if you want, just try going to a particular place across the city (without looking at the map or GPS). The more you do it, the easier it'll be as it forces you to actually think about where you're going instead of just following the green line. Guaranteed to work or your money back! paul
I only did the storyline only one time and now i'm too busy with multiplayer achivements so I still need to use waypoints. I hope I get to know LC better

There is usually a dead end whenever I try to take a shortcut. I know my way around some areas in Liberty City but not the whole of the map. El Zilcho
I go for GPS and way points because I'm really lazy. But O could easily just drive to 'Schottler' and know where that is, and a recognise a few roads in game. U R B A N I T A S
El_Santo
As long as I know the general direction that I'm supposed to be driving Ill be fine
zeppelincheetah
i can sort of get around without gps but i can still get really lost. i've beaten Niko's IV twice and TLAD once. this is the first gta where i've had a problem with finding my way even after playing the game for a long time. in san andreas i can still get lost in the countryside but for the most part i know my way around really well. I know III's Liberty City and Vice City very well - i know exactly where every district is. with IV I only know where a handful of districts are. a_huge_rooster
After starting my third playthrough I turned off the GPS and my radar is blips only. It really helped me learn the way. Playing TLAD really helped me learn my way around mid and south Alderny, but the north is still slightly confusing. I can get to Pegorino's house though. Capricornus
Man I used to RAPE the waypoint. But now it's like: who needs the damn thing? Thankfully, I know LC well enough to not need the waypoint anymore.
xxxSIDESH0Wxxx
i'm a sh*tty driver and navigator, so i'm always in the backseat, gun drawn, shooting cops. everything just blurs past too much for me pay attention. when i'm alone i use waypoints. besides, when i drive, if it's important, my friends always kick me out of the driver seat. i can't count how many "chinese fire drills" we've had at the beginning of Cops 'n Crooks. nemesi5
It took a while for me to learn the city. It was much harder to be a "MapFAG" compared to San Andreas since there were much more roads to remember, but now I know how to get from Broker to Alderny State Prison
super_slav
I dont need waypoints anymore I learnt the roads first time thru the game.
