Rob.Zombie
Ok so I've plugged in my microphone (sorry I don't know what model I only know that it's Genius ) and it doesn't work in any online games, nor windows' voice capture... This is my second mic which is not working. First I got the same model which worked, but then stopped working for no reasons. I though it was because of the microphone. So I bought the same model and it's still not working. My Vista says that the microphone is working, I turned the microphone loudness to the maximum value, I even tried to increase the Db of the microphone, but it doesn't capture anything. My audio drivers (Realtek HD Audio) is up to date, so I don't know what might be the problem. Is it because my second microphone is f*cked as well? Rob.Zombie
I don't use any sound programs. There's a Realtek HD Audio program, but it's installed as a driver (I mean it came with my motherboard) My vista can see it when I plug in my mic, so that's why I just don't get it. I put it in the pink jack and then I have to choose what I have plugged in (like microphone/input etc.)
Wolf68k
If Vista still has it run sndrec32, aka Sound Recorder. Hit record and talk. Then stop the recording and play it back. Also try taking the mic to a system that you know a mic is plugged into and already works, connect yours to it and see what happens. If it works there then there's something you're missing for it to work on your system. Since Vista screwed up the Volume Controls so badly making it more complex instead of easier, and since I don't have Vista, I can't help you there. If you were on XP I could tell you easy. Rob.Zombie
yeah I've already tried sound recorder and tried different methods, but none of them worked. It's like I wouldn't talk into my microphone. My guess is that it's my headset's problem, so maybe I'm gonna get another new 1 :\
