Hergonan
it is illegal, don't talk about it here
Jor1980
what i try to mean is how people obtain information of memory addresses like we can see in a sticky thread about memory adresses in the exe file in this forum, that what i want to learn, and if that is illegal why there are sticky thread. mkey82
It's a gray area. What you need to learn is reverse engineering, but GTAF is not a great resource for this subject. Your friend Google will help you a lot to find what you need. Ill offer a checklist of stuff you'll probably need * good math knowledge * strong logic that is deducted form math knowledge * really good programming knowledge * some assembler programming knowledge wouldn't hurt either
zBobG
The 'big' boys use IDA Pro, there is also a free version that for this game will work just fine. IDA has a VERY steep learning curve, you almost have to have years of programming experience to even begin to understand how to use it. There is also TSearch and CheatEngine for the casual hacker. Both are memory walkers, they can read and display and modify the contents of memory that the target program is using. The trick is finding the address of the memory that you want to change which is often not so simple. Even then, once you've found useful memory addresses, you still have to package that information in a 'trainer' which is another skill altogether which may require considerable programming skills. And, don't let anything I've said discourage you, lots of people use these tools and others successfully. It is very satisfying making your computer do what YOU want it to do. Technically it is a violation of the EULA to reverse engineer this game. I, however, believe you are free to do whatever you want with anything on your computer as long as it stays on your computer. It is arguably illegal to make changes to a software (that you don't own) and then provide that modified software to others, that's a violation of copyright. But it's not illegal to tell people how to do it, as long as you don't do it for them. @Mods: If you feel the need to edit or censor parts of this post, feel free to do so. I don't think I'm revealing any information that isn't already freely available to anyone that can use Google. Thank´s again We cant just 'give you info', you need to learn for you self, and it takes time, alot of time! Learn C++, learn how Windows manages it memory, how a EXE file is constructed, etc etc. But i recommand heading of to http://www.gamehacking.com
