megaknight
Ive seen so many people complaining about a <60 framerate, and i am wondering why? im perfectly happy with getting 25 FPS on this game. I cant tell the difference for any framerate past 30. so why complain? please explain this to me, because i do not know what is so important about getting 60fps. Also, i dont understand why if you want 60 fps, you dont just lower the detail.
Socialism
I'm fine with my 30 fps. 60 is always better, but I'm fine with the way it is.
eyfi
I would see a 60fps as an awesome thing when making videos (outside of the ingame video editor) because you could make smoother "slo-mo" effect. Can't see other reasons than that because the eye can't really see more than 30fps (if I'm not mistaken).
3volution
It´s different but mostly the people do not recognize a framerate <30. BUT i think you can feel the framerate, you´ll recognize that the moving of the mouse is a little bit like a slow motion.

I've said it before on these forums to other people, I'll say it again: I wish my standards were as low as your's. I would probably enjoy this game a lot more. Just look at like this: The way you feel about 25 fps is how some people feel about 60 fps. Does it make sense now?
hondekop888
Play a multiplayer First Person Shooter and youi'll know the difference between 30 fps and 50 fps.
Hydro_PT
It depends what game you're playing. I can give you an example: - Flight Simulator X can be played perfectly well at 20/25 FPS. In fact it's recommended that you play BELOW 30 FPS. I have my FPS locked on 26 for that "game" (it's more a simulator than a game ). And it's perfect. Not only I say this, but a lot more people that play it. - Call of Duty World at War: playing this one at 30 FPS is not bad, but play it at 40, 50 or even 60 and you'll notice the difference. Since it's a faster game and it needs more precision and quick movements (to lock onto an enemy, fire, move away, etc) the more FPS you have, the better. The game will be faster, your mouse or keyboard won't lag and the action will look non-stop to your eyes and therefore, your brain. That's the difference. But this changes from person to person, so it's not safe to say "the human eye can't detect more than 30 FPS". That's not true, I can distinguish when I'm getting more or less than 30 FPS. I always try to put my games running at or above 30 frames per second. That's always my objective. Of course that I prefer 40 or 50 FPS. To be perfect, 60 frames per second is the ideal IMO. I just got Burnout Paradise for the PC and the game runs at 60 FPS completely steady with all the graphics maxed out. It's wonderful. As for GTA IV, I would like to play at 40/50 FPS, but I only get 30/35. Not bad though. It's fine for me.
looloolooigotsomeapples
I don't know either. 23+ and it doesn't matter for me. I get 25-35 outdoors and 30-40 indoors with occasional stuttering and it is totally fine.

bp2018
It also helps when in large fire fights, if you lose 10 fps at 25fps... you're going to notice BADLY, but lose 10 at 60 and you will only suffer a slight annoyance.
Wombatfrog
I try to cap my framerate in most singleplayer games, to 30 if I can. When FPS drops from 60+ down to 30 you can really notice it (unless you're a Bulgarian Bull Spider ). GTA is awesome at 25-35. I can play GTA 4 with max graphics settings at a constant 300fps, however this only seems to happen when I'm sleeping. Consistency is King when it comes to framerate IMO

ikt
GTA doesn't have a lot of action, so 30FPS would be fine. I also don't see why people complain about getting 59.99FPS with GTA IV. With ANY GTA game, a fps above 25 is fine. But with FPS games, high FPS would be better, because you move faster. Oh well.. you get the point. High
For me, anything under 60fps is unplayable, idk, maybe this is something you get used to. For one thing, GTA4 is more about physics and less about graphics so framerate is more important then in other games. you can google it, there were a few researches that claims humans can detect framerate way beyond 100. Psymn321
for the record, the amount of frames the eye can make out differs from person to person but is anywhere from 45 on average to 70 at the extreme end, but imo, 30 is totally playable even if i can see the 'jerks slightly, but 40+ is flawless to me.
