Why is my money gone?

I saved my game because the cops busted a deal I was on, I had 60 grand and when I loaded I had 34 grand. Where the hell is all the money I just earned?

 

Edit: Okay this is weird. I saved my game while I had the wanted level but it didn't actually save. The next deal I did when I loaded my game netted me around the same as what I had before. Apparently that save game just didn't write over.
