soulreaver4
Hey guys im running the game on a computer that has more than recommended requirements. Ive patched to 1.0.3.0 and the game runs fine, however the loading screen takes over 2 mins(timed with a stop watch)and this happened b4 the patch too. Im not impatient but i just want to know if every1 has the same issue or if im the only 1 and if theres a fix. Thanks.
SWEETSAPRIK
There were a few times in the past where it loaded in like twenty seconds, from clicking play on the RGSC window to showing up in the safehouse. Usually it takes longer. Since the last patch it takes way longer every time, at least two minutes. Hell, now after going through all the loading pics it usually stays flashing the "loading <mission name>" on that black screen for a good 30 seconds after the music stops playing. It's no big deal, to be honest I wish it was the worst problem I had with this game. Anyway, I don't know if it's happening to everyone, but you definitely aren't alone. (edit) Also, I think I did hear someone mention that a commandline ("nocache" I think), has the side effect of shortening the loading times. Though I could be mistaken and I've never tried it myself. SyphonPayne
Well my loading time has been cut to 5 seconds by turning off Vsync. Don't really get any tearing either. Try it.
Gangxxter
Simple solution: Disable/Enable VSync in the options menu (depending on it's enabled/disabled now) And woohooo, it takes only 2 1/2 character pictures to load the game now! Make sure, your graphics driver doesn't force to enable/disable VSync!
SWEETSAPRIK
SyphonPayne (and Gangxxter) are correct. It seems the patch re-enabled vsync on me and I didn't notice. Normally (from clicking start on the GTA IV browser screen to being in the safehouse) it takes two and a half minutes. I get 1:25 of character pics, then another 1:05 of the black loading screen. Turned off vsync and it's 16 seconds of character pics and another nine seconds on the black loading screen. PяopagaиdaIиc.
