Want to start writing code.. few ?'s

Hi I've been learning programming in c++/java/vb for about a year now and want to get into IV coding, but I was wondering a few things before I go and buy it on PC, hopefully someone can help me out. I've tried to figure this stuff out over the past couple days but can't seem to find legible answers.

 

1. Is there currently a way to implement scripts for single player in any language with the 1.0.3 patch, and if so what language(s)?

 

2. If I do start writing code for IV, are there any ongoing projects that I could help with instead of just writing a few lame random scripts for myself?

 

3. Would a script hook be impossible, unfeasible, or just really hard to make in Java, and why? (something to do with memory allocation I would guess?)

 

4. I have a Macbook Pro w/ Windows , are there any known issues running IV on a Mac?
